Omg! I am not sure how this restaurant has got a 8.2 rating on eatability. It should be more like 3 or 4 and avoided at all costs. People reading this, be warned, waste your money on pokies, at least that way you get a chance of getting some money back.
We visted Peacock for a dinner celebrating a 60th. What a Joke! There was no wine or beer to start off with. Apparently they ran out and were reserving two of the last bottles for more incoming guests. We were asked to go to the local woolies and get our own, so we did. Whilst there we saw an employee of this restaurant getting more wine. What a laugh! and on top of that $10 wine at woolies and selling it in the restaurant for $37. What a mark-up.
That was the start of the night, should have gotten up and left and gone to some classy indian joint in town.
When the food came out it was outright bland, watery, sweet and lacking any punch, spice or heat. All of the dishes, Chicken Jalfrezi, Lamb Vindaloo, butter chicken, etc.. looked like they were heated up with Woolworths Patak's pastes. All of the dishes tasted the same, which should not be the case with any indian food. You should be able to tell which Indian town it comes from, from the spice mixture and taste.
To top it all off, we found a small stone, in the chicken dish, possibly from the spices being not checked or cleaned during the dish prep. That stone could have chipped a tooth, what lack of attention to detail.
When we complained about the stone, shoulders where shrugged. In the end we got a discount for free orange juice x3 glasses. Man! that stone could have damaged more than three glasses of juice's worth $$.
We left, in a hurry. Possibly the best thing about this place was the ok service. They were attentive. Won't be going back here for sure, and cannot recommend at all.

Watery curry, devoid of flavour. Seems to rate highly, maybe I'm just unlucky, but have been back a few times, won't bother again. Shame, good website and great service.
Response from Management:
Dear Shane,

Firstly please allow me to thank you for your review, it is of the utmost importance that we receive feedback from our customers and we are most definitely going to take onboard your suggestions.

I can only say I'm disappointed that we did not live up to the expectations that you had. In regards to the watery curry, my only regret is that I wish you had let us know whilst you were dining with us about your concerns as I assure we would have most definitely provided a second serving or an alternative.

If you would like to discuss any of this and I urge you to, please do not hesitate to call me on 1300 411 685. Looking forward to seeing you again at the Peacock.

Kind regards,

Management

My wife, child & I attended this restaurant on a quiet Thursday afternoon for lunch. I was pleased to see that the menu varied from the standard Indian fare and ordered some dishes not usually seen on other menus. The service was very helpful & friendly, with every request met with a smile and carried out with pleasure. The food was full of flavour & well spiced so you could taste the heat where you want it without overpowering. Prices are around what you would expect, but value for money in regards to quality is excellent.

Had a lovely casual dinner here on a Friday night. Took a bottle of wine and experienced the pleasure of sitting outside on a warm evening watching the world go by. Enjoyed a lovely meal but was particularly impressed by the friendly service. Wasn't made to feel rushed but were still well attended.
I look forward to heading there again soon with a group of friends. This will now be our local indian.

Highly recommended. We dined here last night on a Saturday after driving past it several times and then seeing it in the Entertainment book.
We thoroughly enjoyed each dish that was served to us. The fish tikka entrée was divine and even the potato cakes entrée tasted fresh and delicious. The mains of rogan josh and chicken tikka masala were both excellent, fresh, perfect balance of flavours and the perfect amount. There were lots of little condiments/sauces as well. They even bought out a dish of yogurt to mix in with the main dishes in case they were too spicy.
The service was outstanding. From the get-go, the staff were friendly and attentive. It was the little added extras that made the difference such as bringing out 3 of each entrée when it said 2 on the menu but there were three in our party. And finishing off with a complimentary homemade ice-cream. The only thing we could recommend is having a bit more mood lighting such as candles of dimmed lighting.
We also found out that parking is through the boom gates, you just need to key in the code: 123. We will make this our regular Indian restaurant.

This is in the Entertainment Guide. We would not have found it otherwise but what a find! This is fantastic food and delivery is available to local areas. We love the food and service the only thing we think could be improved is the atmosphere is a little cold (due to the hard surfaces of the floors and the glass) apart from that we could not fault it at all. We regularly dine out and compared to other Hills based restaurants and this is one of the best outside the inner city area. Enjoy L & D (Castle Hill).

We have tried quite a few Indian restaurants lately but the Peacock definitely has the best food without question. We really liked the fact we could taste the flavours of the dishes without an overbearing intense spice.
The Tandoori mixed grill was excellent, and the Nariyal Chingri (Prawn curry) was my favourite dish of the night, for an Indian curry I give it 10/10. The lamb curry was also very tasty. The pappadams were the freshest and best tasting we have had, to date, and the Naans very fresh. The service was friendly with a "can-do" attitude.
The restaurant itself was bright and new, and the tables were dressed very smartly. The undercover parking is an added convenience. Anyone who is sceptical about eating Indian food, I would advise you to eat here, and you will not be disappointed.
I have finally found a restaurant worthy of a mention in the Hills District with high quality food, great value and exceptional service, congratulations! Will return soon!

It was a saturday and although it was very quiet when we arrived, by the time we left it got very busy. They could really do with an extra hand out the front to give some better service as things move a bit slow.
As for the food, it was nice and clean with subtle flavours. Would have been nice with a little more kick in some of the dishes. Otherwise all was good and great value.
