This place rocks.

The kitchen is open till 11pm Sun-Thu, and commonly till around 1am on Fri-Sat. And what a kitchen it is too!

The Veal Saltinbocca is generous, well priced, and tastes amazing. Equally good is the garlic bread, which tastes like something which comes from a kitchen rather than a freezer. Salads are good, as is the chicken with avocado, prawns and "pink sauce".

If you arrive too late for menu food, or for a nice entree check out the huge variety of pastizzi. The chicken & mushroom is my favourite. If you ask nicely they will even heat them up for you in the oven (not a microwave!).

Just to seal the deal they have superb coffee - probably the best I've found in all of Newtown.

The ambience is what you'd expect from a place on King st - kinda noisy both outside and in. It's not the place for a quiet romantic dinner, but nor is it trying to be. Service is friendly and quite efficient and the value definitely there. Two mains, garlic bread and salad cost us less than 60 bucks all up.

Amazing is all I can say. Friendly staff and great food. Felt like I went back home for a family meal. Only negative was when everyone is talking how loud it is! But that was fine as all were having a great time.

I just had the most overpriced Octopus salad in Sydney at this cafe! At $27.50 I got served a plate of cold straight out of the fridge pickled and shredded octopus (how do I know it didn't come out of a bottle?) carelessly thrown on top of an indifferent salad of lettuce leaves smothered in a dressing out of a bottle thats what it tasted like). We are locals and don't normally eat a meal here but because we heard the original owners are back we had expectations that it would be good. I did notice for a Friday nite there were a few empty tables whereas last year it used to have a real buzz about it.

Thank god this place is back with it's rightful owners! Good prices, great food... have the raviolis as they are homemade and the chilli con carne is fab. Waiters are always friendly and attentive...more people should copy this model... it's not rocket science, it's good food and service at great prices and I love it!

I enjoy a lazy weekend afternoon at Pastizzi. Like the chicken mushroom and apple pastry there. Friendly waitresses.

I have been dining here for years whether that be the late night drunk Pastizzi or full blow dinner with ridiculously over sized salads. After reading some of the reviews over the last few months I needed to let you all in on a little secret. The original owners are back in business! it took the courts a while but they are back and having eaten there last week can safely say everything is back to its former self. Enjoy!

I used to love this place! and eat there pretty often as is just around the corner from my office. However, there has been a recent change of management which sadly has been for the worse. Nowadays, the staff is not familiar with the menu, the pastries are oily, the coffee is burnt, and the portion size has plummeted. I just had the spaghetti prawns and it was a major disappointment.

We loved this place as did our 2 year old son! The pastizzi's are to die for. Wonderful flaky pastry and so many fillings to choose from. The home-made spinach and ricotta ravioli with 'pink sauce' (tomato w/cream) was delicious. The coffee was also very good. We will definitely be back if we can find parking.

One of the few places where pasta arrabiata tastes the way it should, fresh and fiery. The pastizzi are as they should be, too. They're plump and flakey and messy and taste great.

What you see is what you get, the food is all fresh and the new staff are trying to make a good impression. Late night opening times make this a great alternative to junk food.

Shambles. This place was once the best place in Newtown. I went two weekends ago and the food was awful, service disjointed and (inspite of a booking) placed outback on a dirty table. I knew something had changed and read on the internet that the place had changed owners after a dispute with the former owners. I'll be staying away until the old owners come back.
