Great Greek Taverna. Took my family and family to be for nice Sunday dinner, had not been here before but has been recommended to me by a number of friends and found out first hand why.
Food, service and atmosphere was great. Will definitely be returning and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting the greek experience. The Haloumi was spot on.

This is not the restaurant you would go to if you wanted an intimate dinner as it can get quite loud but with a group it is great fun and better value. The food is great and it is better if you get the banquet to sample a bit of everything. Everything is done simply and it tastes amazing. When I went for a staff christmas party they were so helpful in changing the menu to suit certain people. There was such an abundance of delicious food, it just kept coming back.
Will definitely be back with any group of people, even just for the haloumi and calamari!

I had so many of my Greek friends pushing me to go here to try it out. Yes I was pleased withe food and value is good. The atmosphere is a bit loud and service is just ok but I think the food makes up for it. Sadly the 'lamb on the spit' that you get is just shavings off a lamb yeeros you'd get in your kebab/yeeros but everything else was tasty, the meat platter was big and would be more than enough for two people (we shared with 3 people and got some entree too, the haloumi was grilled to perfection!). Would come back as it's nice and local but keen to try Kamari at Brighton too.

This place has good value with the mixed platter for two at 60 dollars hard to finish, the lamb was excellent and pita breads nice but we had to ask for some tzatziki to accompany it. Service was good but the room lacked a little atmosphere, a bouzouki or two would do it, overall a good night out in a group.

Have been trying to get into Parea for ages and finally 6 of us went for dinner last night and had the banquet. Sadly disappointed. Quantity not quality. It all looks great but overall somewhat flavourless. Reminds me of takeaway food. Prices are reasonable great atmosphere and waiters very attentive and is great for families.
We love greek food and will be sticking with our old favourite Kamari where the grilled calamari has that fresh chargrilled smokiness lingering and melts in your mouth, the succulent lamb is moist full of flavour, even the dips are a wow factor etc.

It was recommended to try Parea by my daughter. We got a group of six together and opted for the Banquet. Great value for money and you get to try everything! Although the traditional Greek salad does not have lettuce, I have to say it was great! Crisp as if just picked! We were all looking forward to the spit roast lamb But were served filleted lamb cooked on the spit.
Disappointing but still very nice and so Moorish! We were that Full, much to our regret, that we could not have sweets but did have great traditional coffee! Nothing is too much for the staff and there is an Abundance of them at hand for your every whim! I would love to see whole Lamb and pig on the spit, someone on a bouzouki in the corner, traditional greek wine in barrels and you will agree with what I have put down once you Go to try it and enjoy it!

Went to Parea after reading the reviews on here. We ordered the banquet menu for 4 people. The food I must say was very nice, everything was done to perfection, now if I was to nit-pick and find fault I would say 2 things. The Greek Salad Does Not have lettuce, I really wish places would stop putting lettuce in their Greek Salads, I know its a cheap space filler but its not authentic. The pit roast lamb is of the yeeros variety but still very tasty. If they fix that up I would have scored them a 10 with the food.
The service was outstanding. The wait staff was prompt and consistent and this was on a very busy Saturday night, yet they never stuffed up our order and everything came to the table quickly including drink top ups and so on.
The place is loud but happy, the fact there are always people there should speak volumes, not a place for a quiet dinner but the atmosphere is good.
Pretty much on par with other Greek restaurants in terms of price. Overall a enjoyable experience, will be going back.

The food was delicious! We had an advance booking for 14 people and ordered the set banquet. There was plenty of food, cooked just right and well presented. The dips were delicious and seemed home-made and not store bought, Lamb was soft and juicy. Haloumi cheese was divine as was everything else served by our friendly waiters.
My only regret was that I ate too much and didn’t have room for any of the dessert! (Some of the group had the gelato and loved it). The ambience is interesting, modern, with a big open space and plenty of seating. It was a full-house and all the other diners there looked and sounded very happy too, we weren’t the loudest table!
We were so glad we chose Parea. Definitely one of the best Greek places in Sydney for a get together.
