Our large group arrived late on Sunday night unannounced and the staff were still cheerful and attentive. Everyone loved the food. The salad was fresh and dressed perfectly. The pizzas were delicious. I recommend the Margarita pizza with onion as an additional topping, it was a real favourite. Next time we'll get a couple of that one!

Some great 'traditional' pizzas. The meaty ones tend to get a bit greasy though. I branched out and tried to past this time and was quite disappointed, the bosciaola was very bland. Pizza great, jury out on the pasta.

This is an institution on Old South Head Rd that’s been here as long as I can remember. And their experience shows. The food is fresh, tasty and wholesome. For starters we shared a Greek salad and garlic bread. The gb was served piping hot in a steel basket, with lots of little pieces. For mains we had the Vienna schnitzel and the spag bol.

I loved the way the sb was served, in a neat little cone shape with all the tasty meat at the top and the buttery, smooth spag at the bottom. The vs came with fresh, crunchy vegies and lots of chips. Service was a delight even though our sole waitress was a little pressurised by a large and boisterous family group. The bill came to just under $50 for two and that included a Hahn premium lager.

Only drawback here is that it was a little too kiddy-friendly with aforementioned family group’s four youngsters running riot all over the place. And the Italian-style 1970s decor looks like it could do with a bit of freshening up. The chairs and tables are about ready for the tip.

And the toilets are a disaster. In fact, this restaurant doesn’t even have an internal toilet (this shows you how old it is. It was probably started before there were regulations governing such things!). You’re forced to go around to the back of the building, through the dingy passageway of a nasty, looking block of flats. And the toilets themselves? I’d rather not comment. Suffice to say that its best to bring your own wipes to clean your hands and hold your bladder till you get home.

But apart from that, this is a great place for a casual meal, with easy parking nearby.

After being away for 4 years I came back home to my favourite Pizza place. I was so disappointed as, unfortunately, my favourite pizza and pasta dishes are not the same. For me this is the death of the pizza in the Eastern Suburbs. As the famous saying goes, 'nothing lasts forever'. It is also not as busy as I remember it.

The best "unknown, non-trendy" pizzas in Sydney. BYO (bottle shop across the road).

What a place! Not only is the food great but the service from the staff is one of the best. Its a fun and happy place where eating is enjoyable. I recommend it to all.

Had a papa special from Papa Pizza on the weekend and it was yummy. I recommend it to all. It tasted fresh and crispy. I love it !!!!

Went to Papa Pizza and the pizza's are definitely not the same. The toppings have changed as the pizzas are not as tasty as they used to be and the dough was not the same either, unfortunately I won't be going there again and will be looking for another pizza place.

"Goes to show that taste is in the mind" re charli4 comments. I have been going to papa pizza for 15 years with my family and know the original owners well. We have it once a week and we love it. As for it not being the same since the original owners left, how is this possible as the pizza maker that is there is the same guy that has been making the pizzas there for the past five years with the original owners and the new ones. Overall I would say its still the best pizza in the Eastern suburbs and the pastas are unreal.
