We live a few blocks from Coogee Palace, so thought we would try their Friday night pizza special. I have never seen a more comical sad pizza, basically a piece of dough with a few shards of cheese and even less sauce. My partner got five flakes of basil but I got none. I used the bar's complementary Tabasco sauce to make a Tabasco sauce pizza which was at least amusing.

My partner called over the manager to explain, and he has obviously been trained to listen to customers patiently, utter nothing, and walk away. If you are not a backpacker, I would not bother with the Bistro. There are so many great restaurants in Coogee. We will certainly never be suckered in by the Palace's specials again!

This place needs a major renovation, the building could be amazing and the views certainly are. The service in the top level bar was awful, the rude surly barmaid couldn't keep track of who to serve next (there were 4 people waiting) and need to learn the words please and thankyou. Unless you're a backpacker avoid, we certainly will.
