This restaurant is located upstairs on King St and therefore easy to miss.
We went there and ordered a BBQ set for three and a seafood and shallot pancake. The BBQ food was cooked at our table on a portable cooker, smoke was not an issue (in contrast to one other Korean restaurant in Newtown that we have been to). All ingredients were very fresh. Korean side dishes such as Kimchi were served, and were replaced later in the meal when the first servings ran out. Rice is ordered separately and is reasonably priced.
Although listed here is 'BYO', alcohol is also sold here.
This restaurant, although easy to miss when strolling along King St, serves excellent Korean food, for a very reasonable price. The restaurant is very modern inside and the service is fast and efficient, without being rushed.
In summary: Highly recommended.

I have been to many Korean restaurants all over Sydney. This new one is probably one of the best in Sydney, in term of authenticity, quality of food, service, and value for money. I am happy that there is a very decent Korean restaurant here in Newtown, finally. No need to go to Strathfield, Campsie, Eastwood or City to eat authentic Korean meals at reasonable prices.

There's a saying among Koreans that 'if the kimchi is good, then the food will be good also', this is the unofficial guide I adopt when I try out new k restaurants particularly in Sydney. Coming from a Korean background and also stemming from a long generation of professional cooks, I'm pretty confident when it comes to judging the quality and standard of a good Korean dish.
It took me a couple weeks to notice the new opening of Paju, it's an eatery that can be easily missed. It's right between Tamanas and 7 Eleven on King St, guided by a brightly lit orange sign, you make your way upstairs to a surprisingly huge space. At glance, it looks to accommodate around 75 or so patrons. There are 3 Lcds mounted on the walls as you enter with top 40 k pop music playing through the surrounding speakers.
A host/waitress/server is always first to warmly greet you, I've been here 5 times and I've seen a different person each time, all equally as friendly and helpful. They immediately serve you cold water as you sift through the array of $8.50 lunch options.
Food is positively quick, no more than a 10 minute wait so it's especially great if you have half hour lunch breaks like I do. The ingredients are fresh, servings are very generous with free refills of side dishes, and most of all the kimchi is good.
The service is absolutely fantastic, it's been a long time since I've dined at a Sydney restaurant and experienced such attentive service, I'm so satisfied with their service, I make sure to happily tip each time. So far, I've tried the dol sot bibimbap, kimchi fried rice, soondubu jiggae, stir fried chilli squid with rice and the donkatsu, with the exception of the donkatsu, every other item has been fresh and tasty.
The food is so well priced as well, esp when you compare the escalating prices of k food at other joints. For reference, I paid $15 last week at a place near the cross for a dol sot bibimbap, they then charged an extra $3 for panchan (side dishes) which is crazy talk as every Korean knows that panchan should never be charged, at Paju, I paid $8.50 for the same meal and free refills of the side dishes. I can't wait to try out their BBQ tmr night!

A great range of delicious Korean food and very nice restaurant aesthetics. There's no need to go to Strathfield any longer! My husband and I were so impressed, I'm going to take him there again on his birthday.
