We went here for lunch after reading Mr Durack's review and followed his example ordering the charcuterie platter. This arrived on a wooden board, with plates for each of us and a basket of bread. The pate, cold cuts, etc, were very good but the item which had me drooling was the piccalilli.

This is fantastic, chunky pieces of veg with a delicious, tart, mustardy sauce. This is the relish they serve in Heaven. Nice wine list, good coffee, pleasant atmosphere and did I mention the piccalilli? On a score of 1 to 10, I give this 15.

Now that Colin Fassnidge is doing the food at the Paddington Arms (as well as the Four in Hand), it’s improved out of sight. The bar manager is brilliant personally topping up our table with supplies of ice (which we like to add to our sparkling wine).

The food is very good quality and good value for the price. Try the pulled pork sarnie with coleslaw and chips or crab paste on toast. It’s not always perfect here, but try finding such a comfortable place with food that isn’t just burgers anywhere else near Oxford Street.

Dropped in for lunch after seeing a yummy looking pulled pork and coleslaw sandwich on the specials board. Going inside, the place was gorgeous, wood everywhere but with quirky little pot plants here and there. Menu is impressive, ended up getting the pork sandwich and a seared bonito salad. Unfortunately both dishes were average. Salad was odd at room temperature, soggy and bland. Pulled pork was cold, lumped together and scooped on to burnt sourdough. More like a confit pork perhaps. Chips were soggy and undercooked. But coleslaw was delicious. Love the menu and the new look of the place but at this stage food doesn't live up to expectations.

As a local I've eaten and have drank here many times. First thing first $20 For a beef burger and a hand full of chips is just a plain rip off, Plus side they do sell pints and the staff are always friendly and professional. Go for a beer but if you want a burger and chips go the to fish n chip shop further up for $8 bucks.

We went for 2 for 1 pizza night, the food was nice enough but the service was terrible. There were only a few other epople in the pub and the bar staff just sat and talked to each other near the bar rather than come and collect the glasses and empty plates off the table. They were also very rude to other customers waiting at the bar, whom they seemed to ignore when they were in the middle of a conversation with each other.

Just tried their new menu, was amazing! $13.50 steak was cooked perfectly! Went on Wednesday night, where they run a toss the boss evening, I called the coin toss correctly, so my meal was picked up by the bar. Meant I was able to get a couple more glasses of vino out of my $20. All in all, a great night!

Had a function here and it was terrific. The bar has recently been done up and I didn't even know that a function room existed upstairs. We had our own separate bar and were even given the whole top floor- definitely will be coming back to this Paddington bar.

Best value meals in the eastern suburbs. Staff were fantastic, very pleasant and looked like they enjoy working there. Decent music and plenty of TVs to watch the footy on. The function room was free to use, I'm glad my girlfriend found this place.
