We found this little Gem by chance when it started raining and we had to pick a restaurant in a hurry, it resides upstairs from a coffee place with Ocean views for a few lucky tables.
Food: we tried 2 mains that we never saw in other Thai restaurants (and we are thai food fans), the grilled salmon in curry sauce (chef's suggestion) was divine and so were the other meals, authentic flavours.
Ambience: not pretentious, old building, with traditional Thau seatings and because it is elevated, the views were stunning, beats street level cafes.
Service: was attentive but not intrusive, the 2 girls were genuinely nice and chatted we us afterwards. Food did not take too long to come out.
Value: for 2 mains ($26 + $15) + 1 mixed entree ($11.50) + 2 rice ($5), we paid $60 including tip, I thought it was not dear for Manly and especially the prime location. We will be back for sure.
This is my friends favourite restaurant so she always drags me here. Having spent a fair bit of time in Thailand I'd say it's been made much richer for westerners tastes but that's not to say it's not delicious. Have never had a complaint about the price, food or service and the view is really lovely.
Absolutly fantastic. The best Thai food we have ever had. Would recommend this to everyone. It doesn't look that appealing from the outside but the restaurant is upstairs and is very nice. Will no doubt be going back again and again. Brilliant.
Having spent a fair bit of time in Thailand, I reckon that the food is authentic in terms of quality and taste. I've tried the other Manly Thais and this is by far the best. The servings are large though so you'll need a big appetite!
I asked for fresh chilli 5 times, they finally delivered it after I had finished my meal. The service was poor and the food boring with no spices etc. What a rip off, they charged over $20 to $50 for 1 main dish ( 5 star prices for 2 star food quality). Will not eat there again. Very disappointed.
This restaurant for anyone from Manly used to be Somi's Thai and then was reopened under new management and called Pacific Thai. It is among the best Thai food I have ever had. I have been going there since October 2003 always with a few friends and have sent loads of people there and never had a complaint. They do the best Salt and Pepper prawns ever, beautiful, chilli mussels etc, great atmosphere, can be noisy. Great value to as it specialises in seafood.
