OUTBACK JACK is the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Most come here for the steak and thats what we had. The service is terrible, the staff are polite but unhelpful, had no idea about the food, recommendation except take your order.
The restaurant was 1/3 full so we didn't expect to wait long for our meals. Oh boy were we wrong we waited, waited, waited, we seriously believe they have forgotten our order when asked they checked for us then only after 45 minutes of wait we finally got our steaks.
Lets talk about the steaks, the second my knife digged into the steak I knew it wasn't fresh and it was over cooked the steak came charred black and I ordered medium. The steak was so tough I can barely cut it and so chewy I felt my jaws cramming up. None of my family could enjoy it.
The price at this place is fine if the meal was anything like hogs breath but for what we got it was not worth it. Overpriced for rubbish food. Never go there again and for anyone who's thinking of going Highly recommend against it, do yourself a favour take 15 steps and go somewhere else instead or KFC the food there may not be restaurant food but atleast you won't be ripped off with disappointing food and service.
One last thing we were so disappointed with the meal, I wanted to let them know just how bad their food was but I didn't give the staff a hard time they are only there to serve, the person should be blamed for is the kitchen staff. My wife worked as a restaurant staff before and it would be wrong to have a go at the staff when its the kitchen staff and management thats really incompetent and lack the skills to cook anything decent.
Huge disappointment! Waste of money. Never go there again. You can do better yourself if you go to woolworth buy 600g steak for $12 and cook it yourself be so much better than Outback Jack's $15 insult. Hard to imagine some people give it a good review you must be kidding yourself. As an honest customer (once and only once) I serioulsy will not step into this place. Stop and turn back you'll do yourself a big favour!

Very disappointing lunch on Mother's Day - service was bad with continual apologies and food was mediocre at best. Management didn't want to know about our disappointment.

Popped in here for lunch without a reservation and the staff were friendly and attentive. Based on their recommendation I tried a chicken and jalapeno wrap. The food was fast, fresh and the portions were extremely generous.
I am pretty surprised by the other reviews, I liked the restaurant so much I took my family to the Blacktown restaurant which is a little closer to home.

Outback Jacks changed from Lonestar and I hope that the staff can quickly turn things around here out of sympathy for the owners otherwise a restaurant in this position is bound to suffer the same fate. Obviously there was alot of money needed for this franchise as all decor was changed.
It would be a shame for this place not to be busy as the menu is very enticing with a good range of choice and the place is nice. It is just the execution that lacked on my experience.
I went here for my mums birthday and we were seated by a nice waitress, slow service is understandable when its busy, but standards have to be maintained. So even though waiting quite a long time to order and for the food to arrive should invariably be expected in any restaurant, there needs to be a level of compensation with good food.
The negatives were,
Entree: Kangaroo shouldn't be over medium cooked and I'm sure crocodile isn't supposed to be rubbery and cold. Soup was disappointing in being overly acidic and lacking flavour and also was not the soup of the day we were informed it was supposed to be.
Main: Brothers steak was med-well when asked for medium rare and I am a chef and I know it was definitely overcooked. A waste of a beautiful cut of fillet minnon if we sent it back so I told him to not complain.
Despite this, altho disappointed, I Would give this place another go. I sort of want to be able to like this restaurant and see it succeed. Owners put so much of their money into restaurants and I do hope more knowledgeable, and attentive servers and better execution with the chefs allow this the place to improve for next time.

This place was only fairly recently opened when we went, so I will say maybe they were still trying to work things out.
We came on a week night without a booking and were greeted friendly and seated promptly. They explained that they would take orders for entrees and drinks and we had to place orders for the mains at the counter. We ordered drinks and the tasting entree. The entree was nice no real complaints.
Ordering the steak at the counter is a bit gimicky and unnecessary. It was a bit hard to establish what the steak on the menu was compared to the steak in the window. When the steak arrived both myself and my husband were disappointed. The meat wasn't fresh. I would lay money that it had been frozen and defrosted. It was bland and watery. We helped ourselves to condiments as by this time our waitress has disappeared. We needed mustard to make it edible! Very disappointing, especially for the price.
The restaurant had a couple of biggish parties with children and the restaurant has a childrens room. This meant we had children running back and forth all night passed our table. We had kids to so while this was a bit frustrating (and very dangerous for the servers caring hot food!). I could almost get over it. The problem was the kids room itself. It had some broken bits of chalk and 1 PS2. This meant that all the kids in there just fought (at the top of their voices) over who's go it was on the PS2!
They had room for others, I'm not sure if they weren't turned on of just not there. If you are going to have a kids room at least fit it out so the kids can play, or don't bother with it at all. Seriously, crayons and a piece of paper at the table would have meant no screaming kids running by, or parents having to go down to referee arguments about the PS2.
Anyway, the area could have done with a family friendly steak restaurant. This place isn't it. We won't be going back. We could have had nicer steak at home for 1/4 of the price.

Overpriced considering you had to order at the kitchen. Service was stink, steak not to my preference. The only thing I enjoyed was the dessert. Would not go there again.

Now I believe in giving credit were it's due, but in this case there was very little to give credit for. We had a reservation booked but upon arrival the table was not organised, once seated we were not given any instruction on how the service and the menu etc works. So naturally you will wait to be served on all things including meals and drinks. 25 minutes go by and only order that was taken was our drinks, then had to ask for them to provide us with the menu's to read.
A further 20 plus minutes pass and no waiter to take our order, one of my fellow diners had to follow up with the front counter that nobody had of yet taken our order and to find out that we had to go do our order all ourselves at the kitchen. Not only is that should be the waiters duty, as they manage to take the order for entree and drinks but not mains?! It wasn't only my table that had this treatment, the people seated behind us were not informed either.
From all this once the food was delivered it wasn't all that up to standard, filled with fat and gristle. If I wanted the bistro treatment I could have just went to my local pub. Very disappointed!!
Tip for Outback Jacks: Change your name to Outback Jacks Bistro cause thats all you seem to be like.
Train staff Better!(If at all) to be more polite with "Good" knowledge of service and the "menu" and at very least introduce yourself name and all (how do we know otherwise)?!
Better Quality meats, if we want a gristle fat filled steaks, I go home and cook in Lard! (gross)
