Great food, good service, but too noisy. My mum could not hear any conversation. The table next to us moved to a different section, and we left before dessert. Sit near the outdoor area, not next to a large group! Shame really as the food and service is wonderful.

Came only once and had a pleasant experience, Our waitress was very polite and had a very good knowledge about the menu, we ordered bread to start and the dipping oil was extremely salty, unedible... For the main course my girl had the pork cutlet and she was happy about it , I actually looked at it and it seemed to be dry, the couscous was delicious, I orderd chicken tagine and was happy about it but not overwhelmened, big portion size.. There are quite a few things that made me interested and I will come back cause I want to try more of it.

Nice ambience, though probably a bit crowded at least in the open-air section. Tasty food, though not sure if its exactly Moroccan, seemed like a melange of multiple cuisines including something like tapas. Had a nice cocktail of passion fruit and pomegranate juice. Good courteous and efficient service. We used a groupon, so din't mind the price, but otherwise on the pricier side.

We dined here last week for a farewell party of 8 people. We ordered the banquet @$44 p/h. The service was fantastic and friendly. The food was lovely! We sat at cute "Tashi" style chairs. I would definately come here again for a group dinner as it was great value and the food was good.

Went here with a voucher and it was the only time I have felt ripped off. The food was very average indeed and I have no desire to go back there again, especially when there's now so many great choices in manly.

Out of Africa is my new favourite restaurant in Sydney. The food was fantastic, I didn't drink an alcoholic drink I ordered so the friendly staff refunded the price in full without me asking and I had an enjoyable, romantic evening. Highly recommended!

Ok, I think that, unfortunately, this might be the first of several slightly negative reviews that "Out of Africa" receives in the next few weeks. I recently purchased the "Morrocan Banquet for two people" voucher through Stardeals/Groupon. Advertised as $125.00 of value for only $49.00 I was slightly sceptical but thought I'd give it a whirl anyway.
Whilst the food was actually quite nice, in no way at all can it be described as a 'banquet for two people" - it is frankly dishonest of them to claim that.
What you get for your money ($49.00) is six 'spanish tapas' sized dishes to share between the two of you, all but one of which are not on the usual menu and all but two of which were served cold, pre-prepared straight out of the fridge. No rice or couscous was included in the price. Even the bread and 'mixed dips' was basically just one small ciabatta-type roll cut into four strips, with two dips, that counted as one dish out of the six.
Now, there was nothing wrong with the food we had, it was quite tasty, although one or two of the cold dishes could have done with coming out of the fridge a little earlier. It was also reasonable value...for $49.00 but to claim that what we had was a 'banquet' and was $125.00 worth of food is, frankly, highly misleading indeed. I am unclear as to how exactly the senior staffs can make the claim that we ate $125.00 worth of food when most of the dishes were not even on the main menu and were not available to buy individually.
The only way they could make the claim as to the $125.00 worth of value would be if we had been presented with the standard 'banquet' as detailed on Out of Africa's website but that banquet includes main courses of chicken and lamb and bears absolutely no resemblance to the 6 spanish tapas sized dishes we received as part of this deal.
Luckily we only came for an early lunch so we weren't too disappointed but I imagine there will be lots of customers over the next few weeks turning up for dinner with their 'banquet' vouchers and expecting to leave pleasantly full, unless they also order items off the main menu at additional cost (ie $30 for a main, $4.50 for rice or $6.00 for couscous) and then they are going to go home very hungry and probably slightly annoyed that they have been taken in.
Oh well, you live and learn.

This place made me struggle for a score. Given we went there in the middle of Winter, I was not expecting the place to be like an African Summer, however, turn on your air con guys! It was seriously arctic temp and we overheard most tables asking/complaining about it. Overall it pretty much ruined the night which was a shame because the food was great.
Started with a dip platter and some other 'special' entree, both were great. The mains were also excellent, the afro bbq chicken was fantastic, tender and flavoursome. The lamb was also good, plenty of it and with a little mound of flavoured rice.
The wine list is terrible and the one that sounded good was unavailable, the replacement (assured it was good) was not and again, it just left a bad taste in the mouth (pun intended). Service was ok, we had to keep asking for the front door to be closed with the cold wind blowing in. Young staff that need more direction and a level of professionalism.
Probably a nice place to go in Summer and sit outside, would imagine a totally different experience. BYO wine and enjoy the food, or get take-away!

Out of Africa was a new one on my hit list of must try's. So glad I did! It's so refreshing to dine in a restaurant that feels like they actually care and know how to make you feel important. I haven't eaten Moroccon before, so it was all new to me. Happy to say I will definitely go back and have recommended it to many people already. Saw this in the Entertainment Guide otherwise would not have gone. Organising a work function there as a result. The Mint tea after your meal is a must.

Food was real good here. Loved the salad with citrus and pomegranate and sardines with tomato sauce. As we didn't have a booking, we sat by the entrance where the setting sun hit its strong rays on our face making it a bit uncomfortable until twilight. The BGM was a bit loud that we couldn't hear each other at times. But, again, the food was great, and next time, we will make a booking.
