I usually drop into Oscar's for brekky whenever I'm in Parramatta early in the day. My husband likes the eggs Florentine the best. My fave is the raspberry bread...with extra butter, yum. The service has always been quick and friendly, and it's nice and handy right next to the cinema.
I often walk past this cafe and always wanted to try it. My fiancee and I finally decided to go specifically to eat there and we were disappointed. The cafe looks great, sleek and modern. Its decor is perfect and the LCD TV is great. However, the TV was showing interviews and previews of movies (the cinema is next door) and the volume was turned off and unrelated music was played. That was annoying!
We ordered a vanilla milkshake, iced coffee, wedges, chicken risotto and linguine seafood pasta. The drinks were fantastic! The wedges were great, the salt that they had shaken over the top is chunky we had to shake it off before eating it. The chicken risotto was ok. It didn't look professionally done. It looked like something made during a home economics class in high school. The linguine pasta was wet and tasteless, oddly enough it also had too many ingredients and the veges in it looked like it was swimming in the dish.
I would definitely come back just for the easy no-brainer cafe food. But I won't rely on for a decent meal.
