If you're after a great steak that doesn’t cost an arm & a leg & comes with decent sides that you don’t have to pay extra for & by sides I don’t mean fries... eat here! My boyfriend & I have been going here for years and can't go past the steak, feta bruschetta & the house wine. Never ceases to disappoint and you walk away with money in your wallet. Still a fan & will continue to keep coming back.

I had only moved to Pyrmont and saw this place on Cudo which was in my area.
My husband went in the other night and enjoyed it. Food was very yummy - a nice modern twist on typical pub grub. Nice layout of the place but the service was a bit lacking.
Overall it's going to be a weekly visit for us when I can't be bothered to cook. Nice & simple dinner out.

I have been here many times for the "ribs night". Really really good! Good value too. We have tried other dishes that were very disappointing so we only come for the ribs and beer!

Went here 3 months ago, a couple of times. Food is overpriced unless you get the 2-4-1 deal. Not worth more either. Service is terrible and staff clearly doesn't want to be there. Shame, as it could be a nice(r) place.

I used to come here all the time, when the ribs were cheap as hell. But like most places, supply and demand make places greedy, and charge whatever anyone will pay. Food is rsl style and not anything special, steaks were on the chewy style, but as a place to have a drink it is very nice, I will only stop here for a drink, then eat in the barrage of places in darling harbor.

Oscars in Pyrmont is terrible. I work in Pyrmont and have been here a couple of times and it has been consistently bad. We arrived with a booking for 12 people and asked the lady to move our tables together as we wanted to sit to as a group.
The staff member was not impressed and slammed the tables together so aggressively. I ordered the salt and pepper squid salad and it was possibly one of the worst meals I have ever eaten. Not one person on the table was impressed with their meal. The staff members all looked like they did not want to be there. Such a shame as we work so close by.

The ambience here was pretty good, nice music and the service was extremely quick. However, for the price of the steaks, the quality of the meat was terrible. It tasted like the cow had been long dead and it was difficult just cutting through it. The pasta was a little bit oily and lacking in flavour. Wouldn't come back for the steaks.

Although I knew of Oscars from friends that have been there before. We celebrated a friends 30th b'day on friday at Oscars, and we were very impressed with the food as all ordered seperately off their menu which came out on time and tasted divine, I had the roasted john dory (under $20). The service was attentive with a smile. Well done to Oscars and thank you for a wonderful night. Definitely be back.

A group of 20 of us booked a $35, three course set dinner, on Saturday night. Unfortunately, only 13 people ended up coming. After chatting to the senior staff he said we still had to pay for the booked number of 20. Fair enough, overheads, staff etc. However, we requested that the extra meals be still brought out, since we were still paying for them.
Entree was okay. You can’t really go too wrong with a few big plates of Caesar salad and garlic/herb pizza bread. However, we were told that they did not have salad servers or tongs so we had to use our own forks to try and pour/scoop the salad off the large trays. No tongs or salad servers?
For mains: The steak was very well (over) done, dry and tough, even though they were all supposed to be medium. The alternate was prawn pasta. The prawns were small and tasted like they had just been thawed out in the microwave. Obviously they were both pre-cooked, reheated meals. We noted that only 15 meals came out (2 spare) so we concluded that the senior staff had taken pity on us.
Dessert was pretty good. Large serving sizes and very tasty. No complaints. Again only 15 came out.
When we came to pay the bill they tried to charge us for 20 meals. We explained that only 15 came out but the senior staff disagreed and said all 20 came out. Even though we pointed out that we only had one main in a take away container (one person ate 2 meals), and one of the waiters agreed that there were only 2 spare meals, the senior staff still insisted on charging us for 20.
After an hour of heated arguments in the presence of the bouncer, we finally agreed on a paying for 17 meals. 2 meals more that we received and 4 meals more than we required. Birthday night spoilt, and all in all an average dinner. Our conclusion, don’t get a set menu and don’t eat at Oscars.
Update: after an official complaint to the manager, we were told that they reviewed the cameras and agreed that only 15 meals came out. We got an apology however we are still waiting on a refund/compensation (2 weeks later).

My partner and I came here for a quick dinner before watching Phantom of the Opera. Good thing was there were plenty of time to spare because the food took some time to come out.
It was a Wednesday night, and they has a $10 steak special and it was great! So, even though it took some time, the food more than made up for it. I highly recommend going there on a Wednesday for the steak.
