Great little spot in Haberfield. Service was friendly, efficient and very attentive. Good selection of food available and reasonably priced. I'm a Coeliac and staff were very willing to adapt the menu to suit. Started with a gluten free garlic pizza which was crispy and delicious!. Wild Barramundi served with sauted spinach and baked potatoes for main hit the spot. Would recommend and come back regularly.

Nothing spectacular nor anything too bad. The food was ordinary but expensive. It was good food, but nothing you couldn't do better at home. Service was fast but with the wrong order. Ambience was good except for that there was no 'rustic' feel to it. Overall nothing special, ordinary all round and am probably not going to come back. Ok once on a quite night, but not good enough compared to what awaits you 10 minutes away.

Visited La Rustica on 8/1/2012 and ordered a couple of Pizza's. I was shown to a seat very quickly and my order was taken within 5 minutes - Service was quite impressive. I was under the impression the business was family owned and operated. The Pizza's arrived 15 minutes later and after one bite I was quite disappointed. The quality of the ingredients used I felt were substandard for Haberfield considering competitors in the area have set the benchmark very high. The Base was very thick for traditional Italian Pizza, the sauce was very nice but the cheese was tasteless - it must have been low fat cheese. Overall I wish I would have visited another nearby place as I know their Pizza's are much better quality and standard. I did not try anything else but based on the Pizza alone, I would not return to this restaurant again. Save you dollars here and visit a nearby place that is renowned for the quality of their food.

I agree this is a hidden gem. The food is fresh and very flavoursome. Stuffed mussels superb, eggplant involtini fantastic, linguini with blue swimmer crab excellent, fungi trifolati great, desserts best I have had for a while. Service was 10/10 courtesy of the two waitresses, the owners daughters I believe, they are unbelievably perfect hosts, friendly, knowledgeable on the menu, helpful, service with infectious smiles that make you feel like you're one of the family.

A real hidden gem. I found this place by accident and it was a real treat. La Rustica is a family run, non-pretentious, quality restaurant that gets the important things right. If you are looking for a good Italian meal, without the some of the pretence that can come with the restaurants on Norton St, I recommend that you venture a further 5 minutes past Norton Street and try La Rustica.

This is not your cheap eat Italian local pizza/pasta place, but it is a very good dining experience. On our recent visit, the food was excellent. The service was attentive, but not overdone and they were content to let you finish your wine without hassling you for coffee, dessert etc etc. Overall, we had a good experience and would go back anytime.

I dined in a couple of nights ago. Food was sensational, for entree the waitress kindly did the bugs in an entree size even though it was a main course!!! The meat was so sweet and the sauce was so tasty. I had to take it home and make a pasta with the next day...Lol!!!
My partner had the rock oysters just natural..so fresh! I needed a break or main course was going to be a doggy bag. The servings are generous. Main course we had the blue swimmer crab, done salt and pepper and the wild barramundi. I had to work for the crab but it was beautiful over all the potatoes and spinach completed the meal :) Couldn't possibly fit dessert in but the kind waiter shouted us a pannacotta which was so light and full of flavour. It was our anniversary and they put a sparkler in it and it made the night. It was a full restaurant. La Rustica you made me blush :) We will be seeing you sometime soon with company.

My husband and I have dined here a bunch of times. We are in love with this place. The food is always amazing especially with selection of seafood, must say the wild barramundi and the linguine crab would have to be our favorite!
Service is always on the ball and clean which is always quite hard to find most in restaurants, and the ambience really entertaining. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's looking for authentic Italian restaurant!

What a joke of a restaurant! The service is hopeless, the food isn't any better and the ambience is boring! Will never come here again and will tell everyone how disappointing my night was here!

We had the risotto porcini and the crab linguini. Risotto was salty and looked like a congealed mess of brown goop. Crab linguini saved the night. It was beautifully delicate with the right balance of savoury from the tomato and sweetness of the cream. Absolutely divine. Crabs were fresher than I expected and had delicious sweet flavour to the flesh. I was impressed with this.
Service was poor. One waiter appeared to have been hired from the local bus shelter and didn't know what aioli was. S/He also confused creme brulee with pannacotta. Absolute cardinal sin for a waiter!
