I bought a group on voucher so I can try it. Steak was really good with the garlic butter. With Entrees you usually get 3 scallops, but there was 5 scallops which was very impressive and the kilpatricks were yummy. We also ordered side of garlic mushrooms didn't have much flavour and it was served in few centimeter of oil, was the best dish. Overall it was quite good.

We 'went' with a small group on a weekend night. Bouncers stopped us from going in as, apparently, the lead lady was blind drunk. In actuality she was just happy, and did not even have a drop of alcohol in the hours leading up to it.

The bouncers did not believe our protestations. We moved on. With such a bad experience, everything else becomes a 1 and I would recommend that no-one go to this.

Orient restaurant not much of a "grill". 2 steaks on the menu but some other main offerings all $26. Actually difficult to choose as all looked really tasty. Shared calamari entree. Great start. I ordered perfectly cooked medium sirloin with delicious thick and creamy bearnaise. Husband had the crumbed pork schnitzel with red cabbage slaw. Filled the whole plate!

A little noisy as had bands downstairs but was fun to watch after dinner. Not high end service but friendly, relaxed and pretty efficient. Bar menu looked good but we wanted something more comfortable. Recommend if you are looking for an easy and affordable dinner in the city and want some fun after.

The Orient Restaurant is always a pleasant experience. The food is continually getting better and better and the service is flawless. It is great value for money considering the location, views, service and modern food. I highly recommend the Orient restaurant. It is a hidden treasure and a great venue for private parties and celebrations. You should try it!

What a find, a hidden gem in the Rocks. After wandering around for almost an hour looking for decent meal we decided to try the Orient. My husband had some misgivings as it was pub with a loud band playing but we were tired and thought how bad could it be!!!

Well this was the best meal I had in Sydney for years. I ordered prawns with seafood friitter and my husband had a tasting plate which was full of little morsels that were divine. My wagyu rump was cooked to perfection and my husband's t.bone was the best he has ever had. A litte tip we ordered 3 side dishes which was way too much, no more than 2 are needed.

The staff were attentive and very knowledgeable, the manager even let us try 3 wines by the glass before we decided on one!!! Great restuarant can't wait to go back. Keep it up.

The food that they brought out was average, I ordered the Bangers and mash, when it came out it was hot. It was what we expected for $10, just not fantastic.

If you're looking for a top meal, this is average, not tops.

The music jumped from a strange array of Eminem, then an assortment of mixes from the very early 80's. The overall experience of the pub is not fantastic, the place smells a little... (as expected of pubs), if you go, expect the average, the bar tenders are obliging.

I ordered a Medium steak which came out very well done, not tough but very dry. If they were busy I could understand but we were the only ones in the restaurant. Maybe I should have read the previous comments before going to the Orient.

Sirloin steak was superbly cooked. Service was most obliging throughout offering us a taste of the steak sauces available. Enjoyed the upstairs dining area "Heritage Room" which looked fresh, clean and airy gave view towards Opera H. Relaxed atmosphere.

After having avoided The Rocks area for years, I was pleasantly surprised by our unplanned lunch at The Orient. $10 bar meals, polite and prompt service, large serve of food, sch carlton $4. Doesn't seem too expensive to me! Surprised we spent such a long time away from the area. Will definitely be back for some more ribs.

Probably the worst night we've ever had in Sydney. First the waitress forgot to put through our entree tasting plate. The head waitress came and made a joke about that it's ok cause they have saved us some money. Mains came out before we had time to even open the bottle of wine. Nice but very expensive for a cold piece of steak. Was given free coffee for the stuff up on the order while still drinking our wine. We were in and out within the hour. Very disappointed and will never dine there again.
