This place is quirky & as a Vego I really love the food. Even my meat eating mates enjoy it for a change. Yes it is a little cramped but in a weird wow that goes with the quirkiness. My only complaint would be the sound proofing as if you have a large, noisy table next to you (and by large I mean 5 or 6)it gets a bit hard to hear your mates across from you. Keep up the good work Nourish Quarter... Cheers.

Among the worst restaurants I've been to. The three of us were seated in a table the size of a school desk. I sat in a phone chair which was the height of a toilet seat with as much leg room as economy class. My friend accidentally burned the plastic menu on the candle while reading it, which reflects the lack of space on the table! We noticed similar markings on our menus so it must not be that uncommon. There was also a hair on my plate. Gross!

The food is as confused as the decor. Every dish contained essentially the same ingredients with a few tweaks: quinoa, asian greens, and nuts. We may as well have ordered 5 of the same dishes. The skin on their signature rice paper rolls was too tough. The "passage to India" curry was like an overcooked vegetable stew with no detectable spices, something you would feed to a child with an underdeveloped palate.

Dumplings looked deflated and they were pricey at $15 for 5. They came with a smudge of chilli on the side which everyone fought for because they had no flavour.

We ran out of space on our table as the food arrived. When our last dish came, it was placed in our hands. I was expecting the table to be cleared so we could put our food down but that never happened.

Didn't try dessert. Could not wait to get out of there!

The food is amazing. I've always been a bit ambivalent about vegetarian food as I am a meat lover and I'm not normally satisfied unless I have a dish with some sort of meat in it. But I must say I could eat all the dishes at this restaurant everyday of the week! You definitely feel very good after you dine here, especially with knowing how healthy it is.

My favourite dishes were the Fresh Sisters fresh rice paper rolls, Passage to India, Pretty Dumplings and Ancient Pearls within our grasps. Definitely recommend!

This is definitely the sort of place you go with your friends and order some dishes to share over some glasses of wine and light conversation. I had to book well in advance for a Friday night and the people I spoke to were very nice and accommodating.

The only negative thing I can think of is that it is quite a small restaurant for groups, so you may need to squish in but I suppose its all part of the charm!

This place can be hard to notice if you're walking on Cleveland St but it's worth it. I'm a vegetarian and is always happy to find places like this. The decor is lovely and interesting. Their crockery is also second hand which I like. As we've been here quite a few times now it's often crowded and that makes it a bit hard to talk.

But the food is so healthy and delicious that it's definitely worth coming here. My favourite are the quinoa cold rolls. A bit pricey is the only negative part but if you're ready to pay it's going to taste very good!

This place has a lovely quaint atmosphere. The courtyard out the back is really pretty. I normally am not a fan of vegan/vegetarian food but the meals were amazing. We shared between 5 and it was fantastic value at about $23/person including corkage, some entrees and about 4 mains. My favourite dish was the pretty dumplings and the passage of india curry.

I don't get the negative reviews here, I think the food is just beautiful here. It is quite cramped but this is the best vege place I have ever been to.

Nourishing Quarter is a cool Sydney place to eat. It's in Cleveland St, Redfern, one of Sydney's original food enclaves, surrounded by authentic Lebanese restaurants that introduced Sydney to food that wasn't pies, macaroni cheese and fried rice. Nourishing Quarter introduces Sydney to even newer food, Latin American flavours and ingredients and food that is nourishing. This doesn't mean bean sprouts and no flavour, this is cool food with great flavours, exciting ingredients and fresh ways of cooking.

Great food, and great service. A really diverse menu which is quite unlike anything else in Sydney at the moment, a strong focus on grains, but also noodles which you rarely find in Sydney. Definitely a good option for vegans.

Very tiny restaurant, but they're very accommodating, we booked a table and let them know we had a pram, which I thought would be impossible, but they made it work! Service is great, food can take a while to get, although the last time I went there (third visit) it was out really quick, so seems to be improving.

    Great restaurant, highly recommended!

What an interesting menu! We chose a number of entree and main size meals between 5. Vegetarian is really not my cup of tea, however, I would come back to this once in a while just for the vietnamese flavours. Loved the dumplings.
Very uncomfortable if you intend to stay for more than an hour while service seemed a little lost at times although very friendly. Price a little on the higher side for this part of town.

I'm disappointed to not have liked this place more. We went for lunch. I had the pho, I've always wanted to try pho, so I couldn't pass up the chance! The broth was flavourful, and the tofu was fine. My husband got the fried quinoa. I thought it was quite bland, but he likes 'calmer' food so he was happy.

It was pretty expensive for what we got, however. There just wasn't that much interest in the dishes. If a friend wanted to go, I'd go again, just to see if I could find something with a bit more spark, but I wouldn't instigate a visit myself.

The furnishings and crockery are fun, however!
