Went here the other night and had high expectations. The food was average, and was not up to the standard I expected it to be. I had the banquet and could not eat the octopus as it was tasteless and chewy. The other meals were good, but I've definitely had better greek food in Sydney.

Ambience could be good, but I was there on a quite night so it was pretty average. Service was good, they even gave me extra food as a part of the banquet. Value for money was good, big servings but since it is quite expensive it all equals out.

Went to this restaurant with a big group. The food was delicious, was fresh and flavours were amazing. The musicians were exceptional very professional, I am not Greek but danced the night away OPA.

This is great restaurant if you want the total taverna experience. The band is excellent and not too overbearing, the food is very, very good. Had a great night with family and friends.

This place was awesome we had such a great time! The food was amazing and fresh the lamb was soft and delicious absolutely loved the zucchinis, the music created a fun atmosphere people were dancing and having a great time I love the fact it's more than just a restaurant we left the place with lots of photos and laughter will be going back soon yum.

The chairs were instantly uncomfortable, the service was glacial, we were advised there were problems in the kitchen/ordering. Seafood dishes were very well done, the rocket salad a bit too minimalist at over $10, the lamb tender and flavoursome, served in a caveman size lump which may not appeal to those who like a more refined presentation.

We should have read the reviews before we went. I have been wanting to try this place for a long time and could never get in. We got in on the spur of the moment and I should have known something was up. First of all they are no longer BYO, which is the main reason we wanted to try it. We arrived and there was one other couple there! It's too bright and it's a big loud barn of a place when it's empty.

The food was average and the wine choice was worse. It's a shame that the new owners haven't kept up the standards of what apparently used to be one of the best BYOs in Sydney.

New review 18/6/11: We went here on my suggestion with friends and so wish we had not, first disappointment this restaurant tries to fit 2 settings 6 to 8 pm and then later, I soooooo hate this practice, if this is what a restaurant wants then offer a discount for the earlier sitting, we agreed because our memories were of restaurant that was outstanding and we were happy to comply, once there its obvious that the table had not been rebooked even though we felt rushed, secondly we were told no byo on Saturday nights and we complied, however, the table next to us byo'd wine and nothing was said, one rule for some and one for others?

Music was good but way too loud also 2 of our chairs were rickety and unstable.
Food was bland and unappetising and much smaller servings than I recall.
Value, so so, but I want good food and am prepared to pay extra this food was below average.

Earlier Review: A very nice restaurant with tasty food, but the entrees were a bit bland overall too much meat, but next time I will maybe try the banquet.

Wonderful food, fantastic value and excellent service. We felt so welcome here, the staff were wonderful, especially attentive to our children. Thanks for a great evening.

Ok I'm confused, what happened to my favourite restaurant. I know it's been a while since I've visited but how could it become so different. The food was just not the same quality, the service not as warm and generous. My family are really sad, have the owners changed, if so where are you?

The whole deal was absolutely fantastic. Service was very good, great wait staff, the meals a good portion and superb food, the ambience with live music awesome, value was also great. On the whole an awesome dining experience. I would, and have already, recommended Nostos to friends.

18/6/11 - Again, the food was great, I love this place, we chose a selection of starters then mains, to share between the 5 of us. There was plenty of food, and presentation was very nice. The service in Nostos is very commendable. There is live greek music, which adds to the ambience, and we had a great time. It was a birthday celebration for us, and we were treated very well.

Value for money is good, we had 4 mains, 4 starters and 3 bottles of wine for 60 a head, which when you saw the amount of food, it was excellent value.
