Absolutely awful and disgusting spaghetti marinara bland and watery lacked taste when I complained the kitchen staffs didn't care. Tiramasu watery no richness to it, very disappointed as waited a while to get in. Would not recommend.

My wife & I dined at NBI on Friday night. I’ll start by saying, most of the time we’ve found the food at NBI to be delicious. And as locals we try to support local business. However I it’s unfortunate to report, the service on most occasions is average. Last Friday the service was awful.

My wife and I had ordered 2 mains and 2 sides, our meals arrived, however the meal my wife ordered arrived different to how it had been requested. The wait staff were happy to return the meal and prepare the dish how she had asked for it. As the waitress proceeded to collect my wife’s untouched dish while leaving mine for me to begin on, I brought it to her attention that I didn’t intend to dine alone and she proceeded to collect my meal also. We waited.

The food returned, however I was surprised when my wife’s meal consisted of nothing but a slab of meat and a lemon garnish (the spinach , broccoli & potatoes had been lifted off and not replaced) whilst mine was 50% lighter on the potatoes and a different state as to when the waitress had collected it.

By this stage we were too hungry to question what had happened to the remaining food and finished our meals. The bill came out including the itemised potatoes which the waitress struck off once we mentioned we didn’t actually get all of the potatoes and broccoli. For a nicely located restaurant with nice food, the weakest link is the unprofessional and inexperienced wait staff.

Very disappointing for such a good location. Lived in bondi for 15 years and ive wanted to try this place forever. Finally went there with my wife and from the beginning, it was a struggle. You get free bread which was good. Our mains were bad and very salty and the whole experience was expensive compared to other choices around bondi.

I have eaten here many times over the years, and generally have enjoyed the experience.

My last 2 visits in the last 5 months have managed to prove 2 things beyond doubt about the current NBI, the prices keep going up and the restaurant just seems quieter and quieter.

Food was pleasant, but it really felt like we were dining at a wake. The often much anticipated energy of this restaurant was missing, as we're the customers.

The view is still there, but we left feeling a bit short changed on what was once a Bondi institution.

I took my husband here for his birthday, unplanned. We were upstairs at the RSL having a cider then decided to try our luck at getting a table, lucky for us we got one straight away. They bring out complimentary beautiful fresh bread to dip in olive oil as soon as you sit down.

We shared the white fish carpaccio for entree which was fantastic. I had the Ox Tails for main which melted in my mouth, it was so good. My husband had the Venison which he said was cooked to perfection, and we shared a salad of yummy borlotti beans. We shared the Affogato for dessert which was to die for. Our waiter was great, really friendly and funny. He even lit a candle in our dessert for my husbands' birthday which I thought was a lovely gesture.

The wine was delicious and good value. What I really liked was that they didn't rush us through our meals and out the door, it was a really lovely relaxing meal with great timing in between courses. I really can't fault this place, we had a great night with amazing food and great service. Get there early to get a table.

Best location on Bondi Beach, however, the whole time we were there it was hard to get any service. Slow cooked lamb in penne was delicious so were the campari based cocktails.

Rarely complain about places and this is my first review anywhere but the food was pretty poor. Cod balls unbearably salty, crab arrabiatta very tasteless and for 30/main there are plenty of better places in Sydney.

The service was extremely slow, we had to wait 45mins and ask the waitress 3 times for a kids lemonade, eventually it only came when she saw me waiting at the bar myself. Our waitress gave the impression that we were a huge inconvenience and did not smile at all. I can honestly say I have never come across worse service in a restaurant.

The food is up and down like a yoyo, the staff are always obnoxious and arrogant, the ambience is always great. I keep saying I won't go back, but the vibe and hope of good food always drag me there. I have given up on ever getting good service at this place!

If I could give minus stars I would. The service is beyond terrible, the staff have the biggest attitude problem. They mess up our order and continue to have such a rude attitude. Absolutely terrible place, we've given this restaurant 4 chances - every time has been so poor.
