Overall I thought I was pretty good. We ordered quite a alot, 3 entrees and 3 mains and a few drinks all very good. Came to about $100 but we have a entertainment voucher which gave us 25% off so worked out pretty well.

I've heard about Ninja from a few locals and thought we would try it out sometime. I was very impressed to find such quality Japanese food on the Northern Beaches. I frequent many Japanese restaurants in Sydney and was not disappointed by Ninja.

I really enjoyed their attention to Ambience. The waitresses wearing a uniform kimono, the general atmosphere and the entertaining placemats. The food itself was great. The chef obviously puts a lot of work into the presentation. Be warned, the sushi rolls are large enough to be a main in themselves! The Kaarage was fresh and generous, though a little bit plain for my tastes. The Miso was delicious.

All in all, I'm quite happy to know there is a good Japanese place in Avalon and will be returning whenever I'm up this direction and needing some Japanese!

We used to regularly eat here and introduce friends and family to Ninja, as the dinner set menu was such great value and a good introduction to people who weren't so confident trying Japanese food. However, we ate here recently and they no longer do the dinner set menu, with that gone it just doesn't stand out from other Japanese restaurants any more.

It's a little too expensive and the selection isn't very inspiring. Food quality is good, and service is friendly, but the local surfer lads just don't give the place the same feel as the previous Japanese wait staff. (Sorry lads!)

Perfect little Japanese nestled in a corner in Avalon. Food is excellent, healthy and great value for money. The hosts are warm and friendly. Compliments to the chef, I'll be back real soon.

Food is outstanding. We have eaten here 4 times in past few months and we, and our guests, are always delighted with the food and the service. Having enjoyed Japan it was a real treat to discover Ninja in beautiful Avalon.

We have been to Ninja three times now, and the food has always been wonderful, service fast and friendly, and the location is nice and quiet. Definitely a favourite, and no idea how anyone could possibly have a bad time here.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but I had one of the worst experiences at this restaurant. Our waiter was anything but helpful. He came to take our order and hadn't offered us drinks or opened our wine. We asked him what he suggested for an entree for our table of eight and we were met with a blank look. He took our entree order and then walked away! We called him back explaining that we also wanted to order our mains and he said we should order them once our entree's had arrived.

Not sure what we were supposed to do with the big menu's while we ate. Our main's arrived in good time, minus one. We had all finished our meals by the time the missing meal arrived and were told that it was left off the order. When we asked for further details we were told by the waitress that "it happens" we asked for the meal free but it was on the bill when we received it.

I will not be going back to this restaurant. If you want good food, good serviced and a great Japanese experience. I suggest you go elsewhere.

This place is beautiful! All the staff were lovely, friendly and thoughtful. Food was beautifully healthy, and to top it all off, when our bank cards failed at the end of our meal due to our bank being under service the owners gave us the meal on the house. So thoughtful and nice, will be going back for sure!

Very nice restaurant, tucked away in a corner of Avalon. Food was lovely, nothing ostentatious; we shared Sushi/Sashimi mix, Tempura and some duck. Portion size was great and the fish was so fresh. Definitely going back!
