We had lunch here on Mother's Day and it was one of our best dining experiences. In contrast to another reviewer we can give nothing but positive feedback. Welcome was friendly, all the service very efficient but affable, food beautiful and value amazing for such food and location. And on one of the busiest days of the year!

We shared Salt & Pepper Squid entree then had perfectly cooked fish for mains. For dessert had Baileys Creme Brûlée. Prices very reasonable. Cannot wait to return.

Went to Nicks bar and grill for mother's day lunch today and whilst the food was good, the service was terrible. Our female waiter was rude and walked away before I had finished ordering and not only was she rude she also over charged us for the $5 surcharge on sunday charging us for 8 people as opposed to 6 people.

I've eaten at Nicks many times before and it takes one bad experience to ruin it all for me. Won't be going back there again.

I always wanted to come here and finally had a dinner here with guests recently.

Food: mediocre. Steaks were not better than from those from local pubs.

Service: okay but not attentive.

Ambience: Can't be bad, it's waterfront venue. But, sometimes, too noisy, crowded.

Value: very pricey due to its location. But food is disappointing.

Will not go back to this place.

I enjoyed a Christmas work lunch at the end of 2011 at Nicks Bar & Grill. On both occasions, staff were friendly and service was fantastic!

The highlight, surprisingly was the desserts. We were in heaven! Highly recommend, Bailey's Creme Brulee or Belgian Double Chocolate Fondant! We even made a booking for afternoon tea, a week later just to enjoy the desserts again!

Food is way over priced and servings are small. No value for money and the food is quite average. Service quite slow even on a quiet night. Won't be coming here again.

Had a lovely dinner here on Friday the 2nd of December with a bunch of work mates and it was great!

We had booked for 10 but had an extra come at the last minute, and staff were more than happy to arrange a place for the extra person. We had a boisterous table to put it mildly, but staff were great in that they kept the drinks and the food coming.

No-one was left thirsty or hungry at any stage of the dinner. The food was a mix of the obligatory steaks and seafood, and everyone was very happy with it. I had the chicken breast on beans and asparagus and it was absolutely divine!
The wine list could do with a few extra choices in there, but I am bit fussy like that, and the Rose I settled on was beautiful, so no complaints!

Anywhere on King Street Wharf will be hit with the afternoon sun (even if you are sitting inside) so be prepared and take your sunnies! Great place for a work or a fun lunch or dinner, the atmosphere is great (as long as you like it loud), the food is fantastic, and the staff are amazing!

We had a work function at Nicks and between 8 guys we shared 4 seafood platters. All the seafood was fantastic. Extremely fresh. The wine list is very good. We all left full and ready to hit the town! Another top night @ Nicks Seafood. We will be back.

Went for a surprise dinner for my girlfriend last night with 3 other friends (she only found out when she arrived). I reckon we were a pain in the backside with our indecisive personality as the waiter had to come to us twice to take our drinks orders, but always had a warm, friendly smile to his face.

The food came real quick, we ordered the chicken caesar salad, a full rack of ribs, the seafood linguini plus the seafood platter. Aside from the oysters which were a tad small they were brilliant. The fried prawns were still hot when they arrived.

By the time everything was finished we asked them to bring out the cake we brought in from Lindt Cafe, we asked them to cut it for us and on each plate there's a scoop of ice cream with strawberry. Just a note that asking them to cut cakes will cost you $25-30 (I can't remember the actual cost, but is this the same with all restaurants?)

Just a tip, the lobster on the platter is quite plain, so dip it in the thousand island sauce and that will set you off to lalaland, too good. And last there weren't a lot of customers so maybe that's why I guess the service was really good. We used 2 entertainment cards and the total bill came to $230, which I find it acceptable. Will definitely go back again!

Six of us went to Nicks Bar and Grill for my birthday, we enjoyed every minute of it, great food, good size portions. We had an assortment of sea-food and steak for mains, chowder and garlic prawns for entree, deserts of sticky date pudding and chocolate crepes and creme brule. Everything was very good, only thing was we were still eating at 9.45pm and the staff started packing up the outside tables and closing the table umbrellas which I thought was rather rude. Other than that the food was very good and very fresh.
