Although the food is quite good, they are Too generous with rice and that's what you'll remember.

The original newtown Thai is much better value, maybe better chef. This is ok for a quick cheap eat.

The Tom Yum Goong (ordered from the lunch menu) came as a noodle soup, i.e with noodles and bean sprouts. Nonetheless this was a great soup. Five prawns, and all the right parts: galangal, lime leaves, coriander, lemongrass.
$9.90, a large bowl. Great value and flavour.

I love their Pad Prik King. Best ever and it's cheap. This is my favourite Thai at Newtown.

You can't go wrong with a $6.50 chicken Pad Kee Mao for lunch. $9.90 (from memory) for prawn/seafood for lunch is great value, but I think I only got 4 prawns. Not the most amazing Thai food around but great value and pretty delicious, classic 'inner west' Thai food.

Had a lovely dinner here a few nights ago. Money bags, fish cakes, garlic pepper prawns and tofu veg stir-fry was ordered and it was good. Service was quick and the waitress was lovely and the price was Ok too. I'll definitely be back and I prefer it to their other one up the road.

I come here with the boyfriend for the occasional cheap Thai lunch and we're never disappointed. Their chicken and veggies in oyster sauce is great but their pad see eiw is amazing! Usually packed at lunch time but the bustle makes it a really engaging place to enjoy lunch and a chat. Their satay chicken skewers are also awesome!

Don't be mistaken by the basic decor and ambience. The food quality is in the top 3 Thai's in Newtown. If you overlook the paper napkins, basic crockery and absence of decorations you will find this out as well. The prices are so cheap compare to other restaurants in king st and you can watch it begin made in front of you. It has never taken longer than 10 minutes to get served, ordered and receive your meal. I especially recommend the Pad See Eiw- best one I have ever tasted. Excellent food! Careful as it gets very busy crammed full with students and university staff/academics.

Love the thai always good for a good cheap meal. The dishes have the right amount of flavour but service needs to be improved a little since management/owner change. Good to see it has gone back to old name. Lunch is the best time to go you get so much for so little.
