A mixed bag. Not brilliant. Food servings are large, but expensive. Taste is not outstanding, but acceptable. Ditto service, quality and decor. I love Mexican when it all comes together. Tico does not do that for me. Will go back, probably, but not often.

The food here is average, a bit bland. The service ok but the price is very steep. The waiter overcharged me so check the bill. Definitely first and last time we go here.

Really good food, fast service but staff not engaging. Could do with a face lift, but one of the better Mexican palces to eat.

I am a local & we hit this place often. Honestly we are spoilt for choice of restaurants in Balgowlah & we keep heading back to Tico. It went through a bad patch a couple of years ago, due to change of owner and cook. We did stop going. The old cook came back, so did the amazing food! So did we. & a heap of other old regulars!

The restaurant is not fancy, but that is a good thing. You feel very at home. Service is good - I was in the waitressing business a while back, so I watch for this stuff, not just my table but others too! Value? I believe is excellent! If you are in the area, in the mood for Mexican, check it out! I might even see you there! We will be the ones giving them a good old fashioned hard time!

Probably the best Mexican food on the Northern Beaches but that really isn't saying much. The food was nice but not outstanding, large servings too. The place could do with a good clean. The staff are good and helpful.

I thought a little overpriced. The servings were good and food fresh, service nice. The shells were undercooked but meat was nice. Our tables were not cleared when the food came out so a bit squashy. Very laid back eatery. Don't think we'll go back.

While not offering the variety and exotic menu of some of the more modern mexican restaurants, Tico offers excellent value for money and good food.

I am sure we all agree that finding a good Mexican restaurant in Sydney is a mission impossible but I must say Tico is what I will call "A home feeling restaurant" the place is pretty average but I like the food, the price is excellent and their service is great, the owners run this business so they care and you will find them very flexible with the food something that I love. For mexican food I definitely go to Tico!

Looks pretty average from the outside but we ventured in with an open mind at the prospect of some authentic Mexican fare. Decor and ambience matched the exterior view, a few token photos of cacti and basic table settings. Overall, the food was extremely bland, 4 different mains (enchiladas, burritos, fajitas, etc) all tasted the same and came bulked up with corn chips, corn chips and more corn chips. Haven't been back since.

We went with an open mind but the experience was not so good. It is a byo restaurant but we were not offered glasses. It took 15 minutes to have our order taken even though there were few customers. The waitress who took our order did not utter one word but grunted at my husband once. The appetiser was cold and the main of fajitas was bland. The prawn entree was average and was therefore the highlight but at $14.95 for a tiny portion, we could not see the value. We would not go back again.
