The best Indian in Parramatta, seriously this is it. Let me use the Michelin yardstick:
- Quality of ingredients : Average
- Skill in preparing them and in combining flavours: Average
- Level of creativity: Very poor
- Consistency of culinary standards: Average
- Value for money: Average
Went here on a Thursday night and the place was packed with people. The food was fresh and melted in the mouth. Wonderful flavours and very authentic cuisine. Service was good and attentive, providing suggestions etc. This place is a bit out of the main hustle and bustle of the Church St restaurant strip but well worth experiencing. I will definitely be going back. Such a delicious experience!
We went on a Sunday night around 9.30pm and yet the place was bustling. Great food and excellent service. Vegetarian as well as meat dishes were good especially with butter naan. To top it of, it's value for money. Surely will go there again.
Attended a wedding held in the upstairs room on 03/05/08. It was difficult to get service from the staff as they all preferred to stand together chatting. The dessert of dumplings in syrup was left on the back table for those to help themselves to which I witnessed a waiter walking past simply grab a dumpling with his hands out of the dish and start eating it as he continued to walk to the kitchen. Disgusting service.
I found the food average and I had the banquet so we tried a little of everything. Vindaloo, my friends were expecting hotter/more spicy but a set meal/banquet for $29.90 was of pretty good value. Parking can be a issue where it is!! Still I would come back one day to give it a try!!
Food quality is really good, but customer service and ambience is really poor quality. If you prefer to have take away it's a value for Money. I have been to restaurant for couple of time, only once I had good customer service. As owner has their prefereces.
We went to check out Neelam with a view to having our wedding in their function room. I found the food excellent and the staff more than willing to help. Our wedding is booked and we are looking forward to a gret night at Neelam.
We had an excellent meal here on Saturday. The restaurant was packed, with a large function upstairs, but the service was prompt and efficient. The servings quite large. It is better than average.
