I have a really mixed review on this restaurant. It's really disappointing because the food was really good, both tasty and a treat for the eye, but the service was so bad that I can't bring myself to go there again.
We arrived to find that our reservation had gone missing and was never made note of. Even though there was only 7 other people in the restaurant at that time of night, the host looked at us blank as if they couldn't fit us in without a reservation... which I had made anyway??? We sat right in the middle of the restaurant in between the front door and the kitchen door. The staff had to walk past us to get to the other two occupied tables in the near empty restaurant, but we honestly felt invisible.
We had to ask for the menu, ask for our wine to be opened and then for the glasses as well. Thank God the food was great when it eventually came out or I think I might have thrown the table over, tossed my napkin that I had to ask for to the floor and stormed out. But it was good food, hence my dilemma.
I would have loved to take a large group of friends to this place and book a private room because they do look lovely, but based on the service, I feel if it was that hard to get service sitting in the direct path of the staff, how hard would it be if they couldn't see you tucked up in the private rooms...? Virtually impossible
I'd imagine. Good food... poor service. I think this place would work better as a sushi train. At least then you could serve yourself. My value rating for this restaurant is for the food only, not the experience.
A quiet lunch in the lull period between Christmas and New Year's. I ordered a tempura and yakiniku set, which was satisfactory, but nothing extraordinary. The salad was rather drowned in the dressing. Service was professional and efficient.
I have a feeling this might be a nicer place to come to at night. During the daytime, in such a quiet period, it was a bit eerie, actually.
My family have had many birthday functions here over the years. We especially love the fresh beautifully presented sashimi, Karage chicken, the gyoza entree and the lightly battered tempura. Prompt, pleasant service. Tables well spaced out so not noisy. Highly recommended!
We highly recommend this restaurant. The sashimi and sushi was to die for. Very friendly staff and fresh, well presented food. Their well set out menu makes deciding what to have easy.
Oh Wow!! What a beautiful dining experience! Went last night for my sister's birthday and booked a private room. The food was aweome! Very very tasty and tofu was extremely fresh. The waitstaff were all smiles, very polite and very eager to attend to you. The private room was quaint and very cosy! I definitely recommend this place and this place is now a family favourite!
I hate to say this but the waitresses in this place need a good kick up the bum. The food was nice, sashimi was good and gyoza a bit strange. But the service was appalling, they had no clue what was going on and didn't seem to care.
I have been to this place about 20 times over the last 3 years. I absolutely love it, food is always fresh, well presented and quite well priced. The menu has a good description of each dish and pictures as well, great for us Aussies. Service has been fabulous on all but one occasion - once they brought out the entrees and mains at the same time. The place has a cozy feel, spotlessly clean and the decor is great. As others have mentioned they have a couple of private rooms too, great for larger groups Don't forget to order rice with the mains though as this is not included !
