I was a guest at this restaurant of a friend, and found the waiter very rude not only to us but other diners that were sitting close by to our table. Food over the top and lack of it. Service very slow, and the restaurant was not even full. Hate to see them on a busy night.
First time, walked in of the street. I had a two course meal with my partner and two friends. As soon as we walked in we were very welcomed. I would recommend the crackling pork belly as an entrée. Food was beautiful, left feeling very satisfied. I will definitely be back. Awesome experience.
I had lunch here to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday with my family, the service was slow but there was a huge group of people celebrating a christening so it was excused. The food again was great and wasn't luke warm, tried the desserts and it was delicious. I'd go back there again and I would recommend this place to anyone who's interested.
Another good thing about this place in my opinion is that there are no televisions so you can concentrate on communicating with each other instead of having a distracting television in the corner.
Call me a cynic but a lot of the reviews below seem contrived by people who have only visited the Naked Grape, friends???! Great location and service okay but food and value can only be described as mediocre. Will be back but only because I live round the corner!!
A group of us tried this restaurant, largely based on the reviews below. The service was quite good; the head waiter was friendly and welcoming, although his tapping on my partners shoulder got very annoying.
The food was reasonably fast, bread starter was good, entrees were okay, mains, not so good. One of our friends ordered the oven baked chicken which was burnt on the outside. But the worst of the lot was the seafood marina risotto which my partner ordered. He couldn't eat more than a few mouthfuls. Inedible! It was overwhelmingly drenched in lemon.
We didn't stay for dessert. Although this was most likely a one off mistake, we would not go back again.
We have dined here on many occasions and have found the Naked Grape as the best in Cronulla. The service is by far the most professional in the area. Last week we dined with a couple of friends that had never been to this restaurant. They were so impressed that they are goinig to book their wedding function at this venue.
Our favourite entrees are the salt & pepper squid and crackling pork belly. In the mains the crispy duck is sensational and cannot go past the quality of the eye fillet. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that is serious about quality food. Value for money try the midweek special 2 course for $36 which is a selection from the full a la carte menu.
Having a restaurant looking through a beautiful park down to south cronulla beach could make some restaurant management take the foot off the gas and bank their success mainly on the view. I`m pleased to say this is not the case for the Naked Grape.
We have been to the restaurant on approx 6 occasions over the past 3 years and each time has been for lunch. The food is always as good if not better than the previous time and even though their menu is quite innovative and diverse, the pricing is reasonable. The lunch time special on weekends is particulaly good value with 2 courses for around $36.00.
The service is always friendly & usually efficient although a couple of times there has been a large group in at the same time and has slowed things down quite a bit.
All things considered though, we can't wait to go back because lets face it if the only thing you can complain about is sitting in a great spot for an extra few minutes , they must be doing something right.
Went to the Naked Grape for my 31st and the food was fantastic. My family all enjoyed the food and the service. I would go back there again just for the desserts which are to die for.
Food was all great, everyone from our party of 8 loved their meal, very fresh and tasty. Our waitress was excellent, lovely country girl who had a laugh at our conversations. Price was great, thought maybe they made a mistake as it seemed so cheap for such a high quality meal. Had never been there before, but will definitely go back.
