One of the better pub bistros in Sydney. Place is much better now that there is no smoking. Food is usually good, although slightly overpriced. I like the ambience in this place - feels like a real pub. Gets busy on Friday and Saturday night.

Great traditional pub with good atmosphere. The restaurant menu is very good and still maintains good pub prices. Upstairs is non-smoking, which is good us non-smokers!

Went in here for a drink after the Wenty Park dogs due to the reviews on this site but was rather disappointed. The place was nearly empty and they closed at midnight on a Saturday. The drinks were not cheap for a suburban pub though the staff were friendly enough. The place was nicely done out inside though seemed to lack atmosphere.

Great little Pub, and so much better now that they have put the pokies out of sight (into what used to be a pizza place).
The only problem - and it is a huge problem for me - is the smoke. On a busy Friday night the air is think with smoke, like some foul chemical cancer soup. And it is largely unavoidable - the whole bottom bar is the designated 'smoking area', while the non smoking area, the upstairs bar, is often reserved for private functions and a no-go area. Certainly a curious interpretation of the current laws.
Oh well, D day approaches for the filthy smokers. Bring on July '07 and chuck their stinkin polluting arse out on the street. It can't come quick enough. Then the Nags will be one of my all time favorites.
Until such time, I will drink at the smoke free AB.

What a great pub! We take the whole family regularly for a meal at the Stables and the menu suits everyone and the food is reliably good, never had a disaster here! The guiness pie is great value and the steaks are always excellent. Really good value and the service is always friendly!

Typical pub food and lots of it. Sitting out in the renovated old barn - having a few beers and something from the menu is simply nice. Staff is friendly but expect to wait until served. The beef and Guiness Pie is huge and it is tasty. They are renovating at the moment so it may be a bit messy.

For a pub, this place is fantastic! You want silver service, go to a restaurant and pay for it. Here it is great food with simple service so you're not paying through the roof. Staff are friendly and always helpful. Really nice place to kick back and enjoy a quiet beer or ten upstairs or downstairs for the bands and live sport!

I like this place but they tend to be a little hit and miss with the food. I also don't like that you have to go to the counter to order and chase the waiters down when wanting a drink or go to the bar and get it yourself. I will say that I did complain to the manager about the quality of food and he was very responsive and gave us a voucher for another time. The bands they get here are really good and worth dropping in for a beer and a dance.

The beef & guiness pie is filling and delicious. The potatoe is in the bottom, the crust is light and the meat is cooked till it's tender.
