Excellent, no-fuss local steakhouse. Relaxed atmosphere. Excellent steaks, friendly and helpful staff (very kid friendly). Good children's menu (proper steaks no nuggets of anything). Have been here a number of times and they've got the recipe right. Will be coming back.

We ate here as a group of 7 on Saturday night for a birthday dinner. The service was perfect, attentive but not over the top. The food was delicious, we shared tapas as a starter, the figs were especially divine. Most people had steaks for a main, however, some had ribs. Everything was cooked to perfection as ordered and incredibly tasty. There was one small issue with one of the mains coming out wrong, but this was fixed immediately and apologies made.
We shared dessert platters with coffee at the end of the meal, wow they were delicious, especially the crème brulee. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, even though we made a couple of special requests. The wait staff seem to know the menu inside out and were able to make some great recommendations regarding which beers to try.
I don't understand the negative reviews, we've eaten here many times and always find it a great place. It's not cheap, but it's worth it!

Came here last Sunday lunch. Whilst the food was ok, the service was the real let down. It took us at least ten minutes before the manager finally noticed we didn't have any menus, and then he left us some but never came back. It was half an hour before someone noticed us again and we could order, and there wasn't a lot of people there. My husband and I ordered steaks (a natural and safe choice we thought as Mumu styles itself as a steakhouse).
My husband ordered med-rare and I, being pregnant and craving iron but not the bloodiness, med-well. When they arrived, both steaks looked as though they were cooked the same (rare) though my husband's was a little cold. I tried to get someone's attention to have my steak cooked more, but it was futile. I ended up snacking on the sides that came with the steaks and leaving most of the steak. Perhaps if the waiters (and especially the manager) spent less time laughing and joking amongst themselves at the bar and more time looking after customers, they'd be a little busier.

I was part of a group so we were seated in the "function" room which is a dark, uninspiring room off to the side of the main restaurant, a kind of dumping ground for pamphlets and random decorations.
We chose the three course function menu which turned out to be a typical example of a restaurant providing sub standard food because you are part of a large group.
The entrees of stuffed zucchini flowers with prosciutto were acceptable, however, the main course of lamb was very disappointing being little pieces of fatty meat which was served cold. The side dishes were delivered in very stingy portions and were very uninspiring: chips, boiled potatoes and some green salad. The desserts came on a sharing plate consisting of ice cream, chocolate tart, pavlova and creme brûlée and were very nice, however, the concept of sharing was badly thought out with a pot of crime brûlée being passed round the table for each person to try.
The waiter was attentive and as we purchased a drinks package, kept the drinks flowing all evening and did well to be on hand to us all.
The overall experience of the restaurant was disappointing. I have not eaten in the main restaurant but going on the experience of eating as a group I would definitely not recommend booking a function with Mu Mu.

We came here for a sunday lunch and the place was virtually empty, hence we had no problems with getting service. Since MuMu specialises in grass fed beef, this is what our table went for. I chose the victorian beef fillet which was cooked perfectly and with the sage and Procscuitto, it was very flavoursome. The other diners thought their steaks was cooked well but without the entertainment card it would have been a very expensive lunch. We shared the pavlova which was nothing to rave on about.

Expensive, unsatisfying and disappointing.
I had the Rib Combo and the ribs were fatty and had hardly any meat on them. The sauce had a weird taste and didn't go with the ribs. A bowl of tasteless chips accompanied the main with a handful of cold green beans. I paid $36 and was extremely disappointed with the meal.
Service was ok, sitting outside on a mild night was nice but there is no value here. Do not recommend and don't date your money eating here.

A great restaurant in Crows Nest for a group of friends or a romantic dinner! My boyfriend and I have eaten here several times now, after a good friend recommended it, and we've never been disappointed! After first having a delicious steak dinner at MUMU Grill with some friends, and a few really romantic dinners, I decided to have my birthday dinner there. We had a fantastic night, and enjoyed the entertaining barman and really helpful staff, not to mention the large number of delicious tapas-style entrees we shared! It's not the cheapest restaurant, but the prices are really reasonable for the fantastic quality food and having lovely staff.
I will definitely be returning for drinks and dinners, especially with summer coming - the outdoor area is great to catch up with a group of friends.

A few hundred bucks down the drain, and a Happy Meal on the way home. Their 'sustainable food' marketing (if it's to believe) must be an effort to exchange good cash for consumer green-guilt.
Food: what has been reported is accurate, $40 for every entree sized main around our table of 12. My Rib Combo was served with green beans and a small bowl of fries. Beef Ribs (3) were grissly, chewy, fatty and devoid of meat. The accompanying Pork Ribs (4) were nice, but had about 5mm of meat around them. My wife's meal also came with fries (small ice-cream sized bowl) which she was told were to be shared with the person opposite who had ordered the same thing (green beans were the only other thing on their plates too).
When queried about the need to share 20 chips with each other the waiter brought another small bowl and felt he had done his good deed for the century. Mine was $38, my wife's was $41 and we both needed a Maccas burger on the drive home. Menu is very limited as well, but the overwhelming feeling of being ripped off was hard to shake. I would have felt more satisfied handing my wallet over to my lawyer.
Service: Pushy staff trying to get us to spend up big at the bar. No welcome or smiles and hard to get hold of a waiter.
Atmosphere: Quite nice, a little bland. For goodness sake, do not waste your money here.

Enjoyed a Jamon at the bar before dinner and it was so tasty. We were seated inside! The place has a real rustic feel. The food was delicious, creative. The Szechuan pepper crusted prime rib was cooked well, Service was exactly as you want it, friendly and helpful. Will be returning soon!

Despite some pretty bad reviews, we decided to come here anyway and take advantage of the Entertainment Book 2 for 1 deal. Sadly, it turns out the reviews were right. On arrival we were told there was a large function and that we should order some breads while we waited.
First big mistake! The bread/dips platter was literally 1 dessert spoon of dip to a small loaf of average bread. It was so bad we had to laugh. Not prepared to give the tapas a go from the size of the bread plate (and moans from those around us who also found it dreadful), we ordered ribs and steak with a side of goats cheese salad. The steak was cooked well, but then at $45.00 you’d want it to be perfect but the sides were appalling. A tiny dollop of mash and some beans and the salad was nothing short of disgusting.
Bad Coles mix with some soggy veges and no goats cheese to be seen. Even though we had the deal, with $8 corkage and ridiculous prices ($15 for the salad) we left with a bill of well over $100 for 1 main, water, breads and a side. You could get a Much better meal at your local pub, hell, you could go somewhere else for the same price! We will not be back.
