Went to MUMU for a Sunday lunch, were possibly the only customers at the time, which could explain the attentive staff!
Food was amazing, couldn't fault anything. We had the meatballs for an entree, and the steak and roast chicken for mains. Superb! Expensive, but worth every cent.

Dined here with my family on Saturday. We were seated outside due to our late booking, but the wait staff more than helpful with getting the outdoor heater working for us. Found the wait staff to be friendly and attentive all night, which I find is hard to come by these days in the bigger restaurants.
2 ordered steaks and the other two of us order steaks and ribs. The pork ribs I had were very fatty, but the sauce was very tasty, almost like a chutney. My steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavour, as were the others.
I will definitely be back next time I want a decent steak.

We went on a Saturday night and the place was very busy with several large groups so there was quite a buzz going. We were shown to our table and provided with menus and water was brought to the table straight away so points there. We had to wait a while for the waiter to come and take our order but no major problem.
Our bread and dips and drinks came quickly after that so that was good. Considering the crowd our mains didn't take long. My wife reckoned her Tassie salmon was "the best" she'd had (that's quite a thumbs up). My Cape Grim sirloin was superb I must say and suitably medium rare as requested. Definitely no quibble with the food which was great.
The minus for the night was that you seem to get forgotten about once the mains are cleared off so they lost any chance of us ordering coffee or dessert. Whether they just don't have enough waitstaff to cover a busy restaurant or whether they just don't do things that efficiently I'm not sure (they did seem a bit tunnel-visioned at times). Anyway, thumbs up for the food but not so good on the service.

Came here for dinner tonight. Very busy around 8pm, had a few minutes wait for a table inside.
The Jamon as a starter was very nice, thin sliced to less than a mm.. but paired with the thin slices of bread, almost too little as a starter.
The steak n ribs was large, nice soft off the bone ribs, the steak pairing nice, but it was probably too thick to cook properly as medium. There was a clear tough exterior, my Girl kept adding pepper, so to me, that meant the steak wasn't flavourable enough.
The aged sirloin was very tasty. The beans were a bit bland, almost overcooked. The mash, clumped and just seemed to lack a bit of oomph, it had a leathery texture, now that I recall.
Overall, a bit expensive for the overall quality.

$97 for 2 tiny, very ordinary, steaks plus a small bowl of chips, 2 beers and $10 charge for allowing us to bring one bottle of wine!
A steak from Coles or Wollies is just as good at a fraction of the price.
This has got to rate as the worst value for money we have come across coupled with poor ambience and young unprofessional waitresses.

A terrific choice for a fun night out. Service was warm and relaxed, and should easily be 9, except when we were there, the place was packed and so the response time to receiving our dishes and drinks was compromised accordingly.

Excellent, no-fuss local steakhouse. Relaxed atmosphere. Excellent steaks, friendly and helpful staff (very kid friendly). Good children's menu (proper steaks no nuggets of anything). Have been here a number of times and they've got the recipe right. Will be coming back.

We ate here as a group of 7 on Saturday night for a birthday dinner. The service was perfect, attentive but not over the top. The food was delicious, we shared tapas as a starter, the figs were especially divine. Most people had steaks for a main, however, some had ribs. Everything was cooked to perfection as ordered and incredibly tasty. There was one small issue with one of the mains coming out wrong, but this was fixed immediately and apologies made.
We shared dessert platters with coffee at the end of the meal, wow they were delicious, especially the crème brulee. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, even though we made a couple of special requests. The wait staff seem to know the menu inside out and were able to make some great recommendations regarding which beers to try.
I don't understand the negative reviews, we've eaten here many times and always find it a great place. It's not cheap, but it's worth it!

Came here last Sunday lunch. Whilst the food was ok, the service was the real let down. It took us at least ten minutes before the manager finally noticed we didn't have any menus, and then he left us some but never came back. It was half an hour before someone noticed us again and we could order, and there wasn't a lot of people there. My husband and I ordered steaks (a natural and safe choice we thought as Mumu styles itself as a steakhouse).
My husband ordered med-rare and I, being pregnant and craving iron but not the bloodiness, med-well. When they arrived, both steaks looked as though they were cooked the same (rare) though my husband's was a little cold. I tried to get someone's attention to have my steak cooked more, but it was futile. I ended up snacking on the sides that came with the steaks and leaving most of the steak. Perhaps if the waiters (and especially the manager) spent less time laughing and joking amongst themselves at the bar and more time looking after customers, they'd be a little busier.

I was part of a group so we were seated in the "function" room which is a dark, uninspiring room off to the side of the main restaurant, a kind of dumping ground for pamphlets and random decorations.
We chose the three course function menu which turned out to be a typical example of a restaurant providing sub standard food because you are part of a large group.
The entrees of stuffed zucchini flowers with prosciutto were acceptable, however, the main course of lamb was very disappointing being little pieces of fatty meat which was served cold. The side dishes were delivered in very stingy portions and were very uninspiring: chips, boiled potatoes and some green salad. The desserts came on a sharing plate consisting of ice cream, chocolate tart, pavlova and creme brûlée and were very nice, however, the concept of sharing was badly thought out with a pot of crime brûlée being passed round the table for each person to try.
The waiter was attentive and as we purchased a drinks package, kept the drinks flowing all evening and did well to be on hand to us all.
The overall experience of the restaurant was disappointing. I have not eaten in the main restaurant but going on the experience of eating as a group I would definitely not recommend booking a function with Mu Mu.
