A great night. Food and service were good but what made the night was the DJ had the base up real deep and the vibrations through the chair made me wet! The cute manager kept looking at me not sure if he noticed.

Yuk Cha! Absolutely disappointing. Trying too hard to be trendy, a huge disappointment. Much too expensive for what you get and the food and service just don't meet up to the price.

Went here with a group of 10 or so. Was forced to select the Banquet as the booking was for a group. They didn't mention at the time of booking that the banquet was the only choice for a group! The banquet was $60 plus some ridiculous group surcharge of 10% (what's the rationale for a surcharge for more customers?). Their website also fails to mention the surcharge. Charging extra for groups is quite frankly stupid.

Food was quite good but not outstanding. Desserts were good though. You can get comparable food from Chat Thai for much less. Setting was industrial trendy. Service okay. Value was very disappointing. Overpriced banquet and the website and staff when booking should disclose this better. Will not go back as there are much better value venues elsewhere.

The bar upstairs is great if you are looking for a delicious cocktail before your meal but I guess you might expect that of a Merivale restaurant.

The food is also not that bad. Not amazing/wow type food, but our party of 6 shared quite a few dishes with the snapper and vietnamese curry being my favourites by far. What would be great is more appealling starters. There are a few on the menu, but none that I felt really grabbed any of us. A friend who had been previously suggested the pork belly sliders which we each had one of, they weren't melt in your mouth delicious, but just...ok!

The pricing is okay, maybe at the higher end of the scale for the quality of food they churn out. Put it this way another long standing member of the Victoria St restaurant scene, Jimmy Liks, produces far better for about the same price.

The most annoying thing I found and a trend that I have noticed from another local restaurant, is that we were a table of 6 and 5 of us walked in together while the sixth was walking up from the train station, nevertheless we were told we couldn't be seated until our entire party was present.

So despite the fact that the $80 I spent in the bar upstairs would have been spent at the table while we perused the menu and waited the 3 minutes for our friend to show, we ended up having to wait 30 minutes instead because a party walked in after us and we missed the boat.

I'm really annoyed by this and to be honest, I just won't go back again. Food not that great to warrant another visit and this silly wait until your party has arrived philosophy is annoying.

They pack a crowd in there though so folks in the neighbourhood must think they're doing something right.

We had the mini banh mi which were nice but very overpriced at $6 ea. The calamari and snow crab salad was amazing. The beef pancakes were nice but again overpriced at $28.

The desserts were really disappointing. The stoners delight had so much sugar/candy that the other flavours were lost. The pandan chiffon cake was dry and chewy although the accompaniments were lovely. The service was excellent.

Loved the fitout and was recommended by a few friends. Was kind of hesitant as its a Merivale restaurant, but my thoughts were totally entirely justified.

The cocktails were very nice, especially the sago ball one (not sure what is was called). Loved the fitout and the fusion asian food. We ordered 6 dishes in all as recommended by the manager.

Would recommend - though its on the pricey side.

The waitstaff are pleasant and the place is trendy. If you like being seen at a 'cool' place, you might like Ms G's. The positives stop there.

The pork buns are just mini Vietnamese rolls. They taste good, just like a Vietnamese roll. A mini bun at Ms G's costs 4 dollars, a full Vietnamese roll costs the same. The noodles with XO sauce and egg was very average, I've tasted better packet noodles.

The corn on a cob is a corn on a cob with sour cream and a heap of cheese. The cocktails are gimmicky, but I liked the yuzu slushee.

The pandan chiffon cake was okay. It was light, but a little lacking in flavour. The stoner's delight 2.0 is a plate of sugar. The mars bar rice krispy sqaures were delicious. The candied bacon, candied potato chips, candied banana fritter, candied donut ice cream, you get the picture, tasted like a plate of sugar.

It's lowest-common-denominator Asian food. There are plenty of better and cheaper Asian eateries in the Sydney CBD, but they aren't as cool.
