Having moved from newtown, the home of Campos, to mosman, I thought I'd never find as good a coffee hit. But the Penny Royal delivers in spades. Every time I've been there the coffee has been spot on, had both skim lattes and flat whites and they are both excellent. The staff are down to earth and they make an effort to remember your name.

We had an enjoyable night at Ormeggios last night, we had the 6 course degustation menu.
The service was spot on with just the right amount of time between courses. The food was well presented and although the portion sizes were small the flavors were intense, the pork skin wasn't crunchy on my serving but I loved the baccala dish, my favorite was the ricotta and burnt butter pasta and the palate cleanser which ironically wasn't part of the 6 courses.
The dessert was refreshing and I personally loved the citrus theme. I didn't leave completely stuffed but felt full. Pricey but not excessively so for what you get these days especially at a hatted restaurant.

Wow - what a makeover! The new owners at Cafe Mosman have really created a great atmosphere and decor to relax and enjoy good food and great coffee. Had a great lunch there during the week and one of the best coffees I have had in a long time. I will be making it a regular occasion.

We were a fan of Cala Luna in its old guise, and I have to say, that although the view and ambience of the new waterside location is spectacular, I still have fond memories of the old, cosy Cala Luna. But one thing that is spectacularly improved is the food.
Honestly, tonight's meal was out of this world. We ate at the new location for the first time about three weeks ago and there were a few hiccups (which were all handled perfectly). But tonight was amazing, totally faultless. My girls had remembered a spectacular pasta dish with ragu that they desperately wanted again. Despite it not being officially on the menu, the kitchen was happy to oblige them. We were lucky enough to have spotted a Living Social voucher and used it tonight (yes - they even let us use it on a Saturday night).
Amazingly we had full choice of the menu (apart from the specials). I had the grilled prawns with a salsa (divine). Hubbie had the duck pappardelle (sublime). Dad had the scallops (some of the best we've ever tasted).
For mains we adored the slow cooked lamb shoulder, the duck I had was a huge portion and amazing value at $34.00. Dad had the seafood tasting place, again superb value at $42.00. The prices at Cala Luna have to be seen to be believed. I am slightly fed up of paying well over $40 for main courses at virtually every other decent restaurant in Sydney.
Cala Luna's are all in the 30s. With starters all in the 20s. That's as much as I want to pay in a local restaurant that I want to visit regularly. We can't wait to go back, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the view is enchanting (even at night) and the food is seriously tasty and great value. What more could you want?

10/10/10/10/10 thanks for your review!
The kind words are always great to hear, it makes those 100HR weeks worthwhile.
I love what i do, I love entertaining guests in my restaurants and nothing makes me happier than them leaving after a perfect dining experience. We all will continue to strive for this level, consistently.
My staff are really the ones to thank in the past few weeks for raising the bar in this new location so a massive applause to all of them from me and Emma.
thanks again for your kind words and look forward to seeing you and your family here again soon.

A nice selection of pizza made with a good crispy thin base. My Diavola, with salami, mushroom, parmesan, chilli and basil had the required heat without being overpowering but was a bit too salty. I can picture them being quite noisy on a busy night and the dark old floor tiles don't help. Not for the fancy night out but for quality pizza with a good beer.

I eat lunch here often but the poached chicken sandwich is so delicious and such good value I don't ever order anything else! Staff are always friendly and polite, service is usually prompt and tea is tea leaves in a large pot, fabulous! Only gripe is the outside tables are too close together and music inside can get a bit loud.

We have visited Cala Luna 4 times, our most recent being in its new premises at the yacht club. Not too sure about the new location, food wise, but it has always been superb food, wonderful service and I hope it continues in the new venue. Lovely, unpretentious, simple (in the very best meaning of the word) food, fresh, good quality, presented so that the flavours of the food are the star of the dish. Viva Cala Luna!
Response from Management:
Thanks for taking the time to post a review. Thanks for being such a loyal customer and visiting us 4 times already. The new location very different than the old venue double the seats and a water view. It is different but we still offer all that made us famous on the highway location.
Friendly professional service, outstanding food from local providers including our own farm in the southern highlands.
Thanks again for your review and we look forward to the 5th visit.
P.S. If you love our old location we have a pizzeria called pizza pesce birra located in the same location run by our same staff. The menu is casual but it is still that cozy intimate room.

Wow, this is the best greek place I have ever eaten at! I live over an hour away from Mosman but I still drive all the way to Grecian Blue because the food is absolutely amazing.
There is so much variety that I really could not tell you my favourites but if I had to choose, the seafood marinara and oven baked lamb are great signature dishes.
This restaurant has a great atmosphere and the service is very friendly and attentive. The soft greek music playing adds to the overall vibe of the place and the prices are very reasonable for the great quality, and generous servings of food provided.
The only reason why I didn't press 10 on all aspects of this review is because I have been told that perfect 10s are not included in the overall rankings and I would not want to do this restaurant a disservice by not giving them the highest rating they deserve!

The four course degustation was awful, with the exception of the dessert which was lovely. The first course raw salmon dish was blandish but fresh tasting. The pasta dish was simply undercooked. It wasn't al dente like they claimed, but half-raw and so salty it was inedible. Our entire table couldn't eat it and the table next to us also complained. The piece of veal was nice at first but I was bored half way through eating it.
Dessert was lovely but didn't save the meal. Will never go again and would highly recommend not to go. Even if the food was half the price it was still not worth it.
Response from Management:
Hi Pauley
That's a shame that you didn't enjoy your experience with us. Did you manage to speak with the manager on duty on the day?
The chefs enjoy interacting with customers and it seems surprising that they did not come to the table to respond to you.
We appreciate feedback, though it is easier to respond to if given at the time. Your words are very strong in your feedback written here and it seems a shame, seeing we have so many happy and satisfied customers overall.
We'd love to welcome you again to Ormeggio. "Awful" is not something we are often told we are and we'd love to change your mind.
Kind regards

The food was nice enough, however, the service was very poor. The table was missing cutlery and the linens weren't clean. The tea was served warm instead of hot, probably because the staff members weren't interested and seemed be talking to each other instead of serving their customers. We were very disappointed and felt we had wasted money and quality time, we will go else where in future.

Just rating the food: Good Italian.
Wanted to try this place since the owner and his apprentice appeared on Masterchef last year. Curious about the claim that his restaurant served Northern Italian cuisine. Anyway had a craving for some decent pasta.
We had the Agnolotti with buffalo mozzarella and the Pacheri with chargrilled sardines. Beautifully presented and delicious. But the servings were far too small and stingy. This was main course for lunch and we left hungry.
The main courses were decently priced but not good value for money. In comparison, at Chinese Yumcha there would be triple the number of delicious dumplings for the same price! Pity they no longer had the 2-course special, otherwise we would have definitely enjoyed something else from their exquisite menu. $10 for 1 bottle of sparkling mineral water was also far too expensive.
A place for special occasions with waterviews to match! This was a Mother's Day treat and we left disappointed.
Response from Management:
Hi addictedtoyumcha
By the sounds of these dishes you have just seen our new menu, you must have been one of the first!
Our new menu takes a trip away from the traditional menu format of antipasti, primi, secondi and dolci and instead guides you on a culinary journey. Grouping the dishes into Savoury and Sweet, we have decreased our prices - the menu is now designed to give you more freedom to choose and an opportunity for you to experience more dishes. The Chefs recommend 3-4 dishes for a full sized meal. Perhaps this wasn't properly explained by the waiter?
We have a highly experienced and talented team in the kitchen who do extensive research to bring you the best quality produce we can find.
In regards to the special, we now offer a 3 dish lunch special for $59, available Friday and Saturdays. This includes a glass of wine!
We hope to see you again at Ormeggio, for your next special occasion.
Kind regards

This review's based on a large function that was attended. Food (mod-Oz) would have been fantastic if only my main course (medium steak) was not cold. The service seemed not bad, and I can't comment on value. Best thing about the restaurant is its location, very fetching views.

The staff (floor staff) were lovely, however, I was quite disgusted by the way the senior staff spoke to her staff, she seemed abrupt with them and it was not pleasurable to over-hear. The girls working seemed lovely, and didn't deserve to be spoken to like that.
Anyway, the food was nice, but very slow to come out. The coffee was good, and the atmosphere ok. All in all, they seemed stressed and because the place is so small, you feel stressed whilst in there! Not a very nice experience, maybe sit outside to avoid having to hear banter in the kitchen.

We had lunch there, the highlight was the Linguine, it was to die for. And the downlight was the Pork Shoulder. My wife had the Risotto which was great as well.
Service was excellent, view was outstanding. A bit warm inside with the sun staring down at you if you're at the right spot which can be overwhelming when it's already warm inside.
Value was great, they had $60 for three course with a glass of wine. I would definitely recommend this place. More pasta choices for Primi please.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Staff were attentive, and we were treated very well. Vouchers proved to be great value. We drove an hour from Castle Hill just to use the voucher, and it proved to be such an enjoyable meal that we plan to return soon. Our favourite was the stuffed crust pizza.

I am a big fan of thin crusted pizza and my wife, unfortunately, does not eat them (at the moment). We went to Pizza pece Bira last Wednesday and found it so cozy and friendly. But the highlight was the amazing pizza. Thin is an understatement! I had a special pizza w buffalo cheese and eggplant and I got salami put on top The Best Pizza I've ever had. My wife had barra which was good with salad and potatoes but the stand out was the pizza.

The Tearoom is located in a historic sandstone building surrounded by Sydney Harbour National Park. The covered verandah has commanding views over Sydney Harbour and Sydney CBD skyline. Watch the seaplanes take off from Rose Bay. Amazing outlook over the widest part of the harbour!
Now the food: Good Modern Australian.
I had the Prawn and Squid Ink Ravioli with tomato, ginger and coriander sauce. This was well-cooked and the seafood was fresh. Others had the Grilled Mackerel with beetroot puree and the Baked Barramundi with homemade gnocchi. They enjoyed their meals.
This restaurant is more well known for their High Teas and are doing a roaring trade! The staff were very accommodating, we turned up without a booking and they squeezed us onto the verandah with stunning views!
Go for a walk after lunch up the winding road and discover the fantastic lookout. Drive around the National Park and enjoy the spectacular views. This whole area is a secret hideaway tucked in a quiet corner of the harbour. This restaurant is for special occasions with prices to match.

Excellent good quality and well presented food. I took my family here and we had a delightful lunch. There weren't too many people which was comfortable, the waiters were informative and polite and the food was delicious. Right on the water, we had a pelican fly by and watch us eat! Highly recommended.
