Came here twice, The first time I was disappointed as they ran out of spring hills, it is really frustrating when you carefully choose your meals and get turned down by the fact that the kitchen staff didn't care about ordering and preparing enough food for their customers, overall was fine, the second time was a disaster, it was a sunday afternoon around 5pm and the place was very quiet, we had to sit ourselves and really call the waiters attention to bring our menus as they were busy having a meal.

The food was mediocre, the beef curry wasn't tender and the chicken skewer entree was cold and dry, far below par. Lack of management may sink this place.

The Worst staff I have seen for some time. Shame that the food is great and the staff are consistently rude. Expect to have your plate thrown on your table and you will never see a smile. Very different from the Thailand I have seen many times. Best of going around the corner to Yok Thai for the whole experience "With a Smile".

Mental note "try this place". We did and loved it. Fresh, clean and $10 a plate prices. Thirty dollars for two just right.

By far the rudest restaurant I have ever been to. My girlfriend and I actually had to laugh because we couldn't believe the attitude of some of the staff. Food is ok, but there is much better all around Manly. I personally enjoyed the end of the meal when they turn on the lights so you know when its time to leave. They won't be turning the lights on for me again thats for sure. Never again!

Very rude waiters. The food was late, and when we complained he told us to f-off under his breath. The food was ok, but the service was terrible. Personally I'd try somewhere else instead.

Quite possibly the best Thai Food I have tasted in Sydney, and indeed it is this that has had me going back on numerous occasions. Their lunch deal especially, for $10 is both exceptional in price for the portion dished out and certainly for the taste, there has yet to be one that has come close to surpassing it.

However, without fail, on Every occasion the staff have been completely disinterested, unhelpful, lazy, and, as of the other day, down right rude. The Food has always outweighed the unfriendly staff who clearly would rather be anywhere else but there. This is a shame as myself and partner, after giving it the benefit of the doubt time and time again shan't be going back. Perhaps, stick to take away as the food will not disappoint.

Reheated curry puffs, undercooked chewy rice, the wrong meal plonked before us and, when queried, definitely hostile service. The worst dining experience we've experienced in Manly.

Some friends and I visited Mortar & Pestle for a Sunday lunch yesterday and were very disappointed with the extremely rude service! The wait staff are rude, surly and have no customer service skills whatsoever. The food is very cheap for lunch, but is by no means the best thai.

We took some friends fresh from the UK here after it was recommended to us by someone else. The dishes we had were a little bit better than average but not great. The ambience was pretty noisy, which is not my cup of tea, this is a personal thing from customer to customer.

What really annoyed us (and our overseas friends) was the absolute lack of service. We had to ask someone to take our orders, it seemed that the reason for this place existing was a social hangout for the staff. They seemed rude and abrupt, and when it came to closing time, they didn't politely remind us that they will be closing soon, like other normal restaurants, but turned the lights up and glared at us til we left.

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone, as there are so many Thai restaurants around Sydney, you can be choosy. on't choose this one!

This place is fantastic! Great food, quick service and excellent value for money. It's a little bit loud, so I probably wouldn't go there for a quiet meal on a Saturday night. But for our group of 10 it was perfect.
