OMG, excellent food!!! though the service was not superb from one of the waiter. We got chased out of our seats because he thought we were sitting in someone else's place, it was later realised that that person had already paid and left. The other 3 waiters were great! 1 was lively and really friendly, though 1 of them felt kinda new and kept forgetting our bill and cheese sprinkle. The team was great though on a whole.
It was a Thursday night and fully booked out!! make sure you make a booking before going if you want to secure seats inside!! Food came in record time despite the crowd.... great!
Absolutely the BEST Italian restaurant I've ever been to. Food and value are excellent. A bit noisy inside but that's because they are always full! Sit in the enclosed courtyard if you want less noise.
Fantastic Restaurant, Fantastic Food, Great Service. I dine out alot with my friends and was very impressed by this restaurant. Will definitely be back.. Well done guys!
Very disappointed. Being Italian, I have found the pizza not cooked, very salty and 4 slices of prosciutto are very few for a decent pizza. Moreover the service was poor as the waiteress looked very annoyed and prompt us to order quickly as she was busy. One of the waiter also commented on our group being Italian... Overall huge disappointment and complete lack of customer service.
Went to Morett'is one night with a friend and waited one hour for 2 pizzas. The waiter said he thought we didn't want our food because we were talking! Good pizza though.
P.s Mangiaboy - I have been to Moretti a few times, but I think that one visit just really disappointed me!
Have been going to this restaurant since it first opened, and even had my 21st birthday there.
Firstly I am Italian, and having tried a lot of Italian restaurants in Italy and Australia, believe me when I say that this is REAL ITALIAN food. Some of the "italian" food in Australia is so fake and bad, it's not even funny. I am really picky about my pizza, but this place has some of the best wood-fired pizza around. Pasta is also very good, especially Gnocchi Quatro Formaggi.
Tip: Place does get extremely busy, if you want quick service and food then you have to turn up early, say 6 pm. Otherwise, be prepared to wait, the place is just too popular..!
Another tip: This is an Italian Trattoria. Stick to pizza, pasta, dessert and coffee. You want a steak? Go somewhere else. You want posh service? Go to a posh restaurant!
I own a pizza shop myself but Moretti is one of my favourite places in Sydney. I went there two years ago to get some inspiration and was very impressed. Revisited the place recently and had a pleasant experience once again. I've recognised the waiter from two years ago, which means the service is pretty professional and consistent. It was a busy monday night (!) and the owner was helping the chef out by pulling the pizzas out of the oven and serving them. Another plus. The only downfalls are : pizzas and pastas are a little overpriced and the place gets very noisy. I will, however, revisit again and again.
The Pizzas and the 4 formagi gnocchi are our favourite meals, and don't forget to finish off with the nutella pizza. The service is always good (been here about 8 times), but a bit too pricey if you're taking the whole family..
I would say an all-round good place to eat. They don't excel in all areas but do not falter in any either. If you want a safe place to eat, this is the place. The Nutella Pizza is very good. Service is average.
This is my new favourite Italian restaurant. The pizzas here are to die for. They are consistently great. The best pizza, by far that I have had in Sydney. Traditional italian..Superb. The service is always good and service staff are so friendly. I would recommend it to anyone who loves good pizza.
