Visited with a party of four at 7.30pm last Saturday night and was able to get a table, just, without a booking.
We had a lovely, relaxed, friendly waiter who quickly took our drink orders and explained the specials. We shared garlic bread, caprese salad (beautiful mozza) and the amazing homemade gnocchi special, they were all delicious. Only thing that let the entree's down was the wait, around half an hour. I would have preferred them to arrive to the table in a scattered style. Perhaps, they could serve garlic bread first up instead of waiting for the gnocchi to be prepared?
Mains were all good quality, good size and tasted fresh! I think the veal dishes were slightly better than the pastas ordered. The pizza looked and smelt great on the surrounding tables. Once again the wait was a little long, but not 'would not return' material for us, which was not the case for two couples dining around us (one of which had to cancel their mains so they got to their movie). The waiter also continued to apologise about the wait times along the way.
I would return and I would order with confidence again, particularly if I fancied gnocchi and yummy sangiovese/merlot Italian blend. I just would not visit again if I was super hungry on arrival or if I was on a time limit. From what I have been told, it is one of the only decent places left on Norton Street? I may be a little delayed in my reaction but what has happened to Leichhardt?

I have been recommended this place by many and finally I went there a couple of weeks ago. I am in love with this Real Italian restaurant. Food is real Italian comfort food, pizza is amazing and the place itself reminds me of the restaurants in Italy, with the long desk and the bar full of bottles.
Both mains of pasta and meat/fish are huge, I walked out stuffed! Fettuccine Moretti are to die for, something to absolutely try. Food can take a while, but I like to go out for fine food not for fast food, so I don't mind. I can't wait to be back and try all the delicious dishes on the menu!

Came here last night for a quick meal with my wife. She ordered the scotch fillet and I ordered the Fettuccine Moretti.
For me, the fillet was ok, but the fettuccine was amazing! The portion is humongous! And when we told them that I can't finish it, they simply said, "My Italian Mama at the back always thought that everyone has a belly of an Italian" I found that very cute though.
Anyway, beside the food the ambience is not really nice. Too noisy and hectic (eventhough its not on their busiest night) and some roaches crawling around you (we've got the outdoor table). The service was ok, not as quick as you want but still par.
Overall, I will go back there again if I'm feeling really hungry and besides, the pasta was amazing!

Moretti does really good Italian food and they definatley have the best (Italian) pizza's in the whole of Sydney.
All the pasta dishes are fresh and very authentic Italian tastes. I go here for lunch at least once a week and my favourtie pasta dish is the 'Penne Siciliana'.
I've also had: fish, salads, pizzas and tried the beautiful homemade ghnocci. It is by far the best Italian restaurant (food wise) in Lecihhardt!
Wood fire pizzas and friendly staff. I would highley recomend going here if you want to taste great Italian fresh dishes.

We went there recently and was disgusted on how long it took to get a garlic bread, 45 minutes for 2 slices of bread (that was nothing special)! We ended up very frustrated that the mains were taking just as long to come out (how long does pizza honestly take to make?!) we ended up cancelling our mains and walked out. Worst service ever!

Five of us went to Moretti tonight after a recommendation from a friend. It was a Sat night and had to wait about 5 minutes to seated which we were pleased with as we thought it would have been longer, however, it took 20 minutes before anyone came and took our order. The staff and the bar staff were arguing and shouting.
The wine and drinks came but we had to send the coke back as we had ordered a jug not a glass and we had to ask for tap water twice. The entrees came of garlic bread and bruschetta, they were average.
The mains came about 25 minutes later and looked lovely, however, we had to wait for the mash with the chicken dish. I ordered the lemon sole which was looked just right, however, when I started to eat it had a really weird after taste. I ate a few mouthfuls but has to send it back. It was awful.
The seasonal vegetables were overdone and great if you had no teeth. I was very disappointed by the apathy of the senior staff or the staff who did nothing to make amends for the poor food. I made sure thatsenior staff knew about it when I left but he could not have cared less.

After reading so many rave reviews on this site I was more than willing to give this place a try, we came here on a Friday night and found that there was a 30 minute wait. Since we've been meaning to try this place for months - we were okay with this. After about 15 minutes we got a seat at their waiting area and ordered our drinks, a down side was that they forgotten that we were waiting and seated another couple before us, so we decided to just eat our meal in the same place. The pizza was actually a let down, it lacked in flavour and presentation, there was barely any topping, and worst yet, the crust was burnt. After all this we couldn't wait to leave and unfortunately we won't be here again.

My first time at Moretti's after a movie at the Palace. We were lucky and walked straight in for a table for two. Service was quick and attentive and it's good to see wine offered by the glass and reasonably priced. My companion fancied fish so she ordered the sole, which was pronounced delicious, with a side salad. I had the special of gnocchi with prawns and zucchini, also delicious although a trifle under-seasoned.
The highlight of the night for me was the dolci. Their pannacotta, with strawberries and a berry coulis, was sensational. I will go back for that alone. Now, if they could just do something about the noise.
