Our family casually eats from Moon Koon whether it be dining in or takeaway/ delivery. I am surprised to see a few negative reviews as this restaurant is a top choice for my friends and neighbors. My family's favourite dish would definitely be the Steak in Wasabi and Garlic Butter King Prawns. I agree with the positive reviews below as the steak was not once chewy but tender.

As we are regulars, we have tried most of the dishes from Moon Koon and my overall statement would be that this restaurant provides good quality tasting food that is not greasy and definitely not flavourless. I am usually very picky with staff service and the atmosphere as I like to dine in a place with good ambience and polite staff.

Some Chinese restaurants we have been to, the staff are rude and overall lack service skills. However, Moon Koon provides good service and I personally do not mind the ambience although it isn't the greatest. It is a nice and cosy restaurant that people should generally not have a problem dining in.

Used Moon Koon for a Monday night lemon chicken craving. I rang ahead and ordered and told my chicken would be 15 minutes, this was accurate.

The restaurant itself had that classic kitsch appeal shared with so many chinese restaurants in Australia, the fish tank, oriental facades, bad decor etc. The staff were friendly and prompt and upon payment gave me my chicken and rice.

The portion size was excellent, especially for the price, but as I got to the second layer of chicken sitting in its foil box I found that time + steam + oil = something soggy and unpalatable.

Would go back here if I'm feeling lazy and want a typically Aussie/Chinese takeaway meal, but for quality I'd make the journey to Chinatown or Ashfield!

I ordered home delivery, and was unimpressed. The chicken and corn soup was very good but the container was only half full. The stir fried snowpea, broccoli, and mushroom was tasteless and sauce was gluggy. I won't be going back.

I can't comment on the ambience as I have only had home delivery, but the food is amazing. The Fillet Steak Peking Style is always cooked to perfection, with lovely tender steak and no fatty pieces. Everything tastes really fresh with none of that heavy oily feeling sometimes associated with Chinese takeaway. Best Chinese takeaway I have ever had and fast delivery. Highly recommended.

Always get takeaway. Judging from the interior, I can't say I would want to eat in, but the food is always some of the best chinese food around. Never too greasy, full of flavour!

I ordered a take away and so can't comment on the ambience. I am not usually a fan of Chinese food but I really enjoyed my dinner from Moon Koon. The vegetables tasted really fresh and were well cooked and the food was not greasy at all. The delivery driver forgot to bring our curry sauce and when we phoned they were very apologetic and redelivered very quickly. I would definitely order from Moon Koon again.

I have been recently introduced to this place and have been pleasantly surprised. The food here is flavoursome, non greasy, and comes out in massive serves. It's such great value for money when you consider the price. I ordered Fillet Steak Chinese Style which came out perfect. The meat was tender and the sauce it came with was delicious. Another dish we ordered was chicken with cashew nuts, which we also enjoyed. The staff are lovely and you get some complimentary chocolates at the end of your bill!

I highly recommended this place (seeing that I've been there twice in one week says a lot). I'll be definitely going back and recommending this place to all my friends.
