This is by far the best mexican restaurant in Sydney! I have eaten Mexican food since I was young and know good mexican food when I taste it. The service is friendly and prompt. I would definitely recommend dining here. A very enjoyable and affordable dinner out for the family.
This restaurant is on my top list. I love 2 eat at Montezuma. It is a family restaurant. Very enjoyable 4 kids. Food tastes amazing. I am vegetarian so I had so many choices 2 pick. My kids enjoyed a lot cuz they have kids meals and colouring competition. Kids were busy so I enjoyed my food nicely. I am very happy with their friendly service.
Tried this restaurant last night, was much better than a Mexican restaurant I went to a month ago, but still left me slightly unsatisfied. I thought servings were small considering the price. It did also seem that food was pre-cooked and warmed when ordered.
I didn't mind the location, right in the middle of Church Street, there were a lot of people out and about. It was good. I may be back if I can't find anything better, but for now will continue to search for authentic, fresh tasting Mexican food.
I cannot believe the reviews I have read about this Restaurant. I have been dining there with both family and friends for a number of years. The food is sensational, it is good quality food with a great flavour. The decor of the restaurant is very appealing with a real mexican flavour. The service we receive is always very friendly and attentive. The prices are very reasonable and it makes for quite an inexpensive and healthy dining experience. As I said I can't believe the other negative reviews, we love this place!!
We went there for our anniversary and I must say my Asian girlfriend can cook better Mexican. The food wasn't very tasty and it seemed like it was pre cooked. We spent $60 for the both of us and I have to say I can buy a lot of Old El Paso Taco Kits that would last me for months!!! and taste better too.
Had dinner here last week on Saturday and talk about lazy cooking!!! I ordered a San Francisco meal which consists of burritos and enchiladas with rice!! It was disgusting everything was pre-cooked what they do is shove everything on a plate bake it (including the sour cream!) till it's warm. The sour cream turned to liquid, the rice was crunchy, sauce was burnt and the chicken inside the burrito was barely hot definitely wouldn't recommend this place to my worse enemy.
I agree with the fact that their beef taste/look and smelt like dog meat. This may sound like a harsh comment, but it's the truth and I'm not even exaggerating either. We barely touched our meal before we told them we couldn’t eat it, and yet they still said we had to pay $70!!
Had lunch here with the family today, beef tasted and smelt like dog food. It all tasted the same, we had tacos, burritos, enchiladas and all the dips, also the chilli con carne was not even chilli!!!!! Wouldn't go back, I definitely can cook better than this at home.
I went here for lunch with friends. The service was slow and inattentive, and the food was very average. I hate the decor and the ambience (or lack thereof) in this place. I am never going back!
My Partner and I went here for dinner on the weekend, we've been here several times before. The food has taken a dramatic slide down hill. I couldn't really taste much difference between my chicken and beef enchilada's. The cocktail menu looks good, but don't be deceived. I ordered an "Aztec Delight", a mocktail. It tasted like coconut shower gel with a hint of mango body butter. It was FOUL. I've never been happier to carry a bottle of Mt Franklin in my handbag. Not going back for a LOOONG time.
I ate there once I am use to good Mexican and have yet to find good Mexican in Australia. I would stay home and cook vs going out to a Mexican restaurant. These people were nice enough to refund my money as I did not eat my food.
