Was really impressed with the café's reviews so decided it was time to have breakfast here. We went twice in one month.

The first time the food was good but on the more expensive side for what it is compared to the rest of Crows Nest. The order took a while to come. The coffee was average. Love the table numbers and the inside is nice. The coffee card on your phone is good too, less paper to have in your wallet.

Decided to give it another go a few weeks later and the benefit of the doubt. This time we got breakfast rather than breakfast sandwiches. Again the food took forever and people who arrived quite a while after us got their food first which is always frustrating. We ordered a side of avocado for $3 or $4 and were assured it would be a decent size (probably half an avocado). We got a quarter of a tiny avocado.

Everything on my plate - eggs, mushrooms, tomato and spinach had cooled, only the toast was hot. We waited again for more than 30 minutes after ordering for our breakfast even though it wasn't particularly busy. Normally I would have said something but we were in a hurry and couldn't wait any more.

Montagu is clearly understaffed as when we were paying noticed food and coffees sitting waiting to be taken out. All in all a disappointment. There is cheaper and much better coffee next door at Bean Drinking, and food that is equally good and arrives faster at many other nearby cafés.

Have had lunch and brunch here a couple of times now. Found the food to be fresh and the coffee pretty good too. Great little spot away from the main street where you can relax.

This place is your saving grace in the beige landscape that is Crows Nest! Rob and the guys make a mean macchiato but the best thing about this place is their sandwiches. They are awesome, when I take my partner here he has two. They have winning flavour combinations and use wonderful selections of bread. No wonder they got a mention in the good food guide!! funky fit out and a breath of fresh air on the north side. A must try for all.

Have visited here a couple of times now for lunch. The sandwiches are excellent - the combos are a bit different, not just your usual sandwich options. My favourite is the roast vege with pesto. Nice location, especially on a sunny day. The staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend for a laid-back lunch.

I have been to Montagu a few times now and I'm always confronted with so many tempting choices on the menu. My favourite (so far) has been the Lamb meatball sandwich and I would recommend it to anyone going to Montagu for the first time. Location is also nice and you can ask for a picnic rug to enjoy your lunch on the Village Green on a sunny day which is a nice touch.

Free range meat and eggs are on the menu here, yay. Hubby and I have brekkie here at least once per week. The only thing I don't like is their baked beans, they're too dry. I always order sides with my poached eggs. The tea is weak though, so now I ask for a strong pot and they're happy to do that.

Just lovely. Delicious sandwiches, yummy muffins (baked on the premises every morning), good coffee and really good service.

I love this place! I'm a local and visit regularly for the great quality, freshly prepared sandwiches. There's surely no better in Sydney. The coffee is delicious and Robert is the consummate host.

As a sandwich buff, I have to say Montagu comes up trumps. The fillings are interesting and tasty and it's quite good value as well. Nice coffee. Definitely recommend as a good cafe in Crowie.
