Love this place! Combination of great atmosphere and fantastic well priced meals. The staff really look like they are enjoying themselves in their jobs and this adds to the vibe of the place. Stylish and welcoming, dine here frequently - highly recommendable, especially as the food and service are consistently good.
I had a lovely night at the MJ Thai. The meals were reasonably priced, the beer was cold and the set up was stylish. Highly recommend and would dine here again when I am next in Sydney.
As a visitor it was good to find a good pub feed in a very pleasant and historic setting. The restaurant was very busy, most probably because it is so popular and in a very central location.
This is the best local Thai place around. It's relaxed and friendly and being in a pub makes the atmosphere more buzzy. They recently renovated and it's very modern and classy, you forget it's a pub. Great for a girls night out.
I have tried heaps of Tom Yum soups and this is by far number one. I even get extra to take away and put it in the freezer for lunch or dinner during the week. It's delicious. The chilli chicken fried rice is also amazing and so filling. The price is cheap and I always leave satisified, I love this place.
We have eaten laksa at every possible venue in Sydney and this is the best. Couldn't recommend this M&J Thai more highly. Yes, it is in a pub but that means that your drinks are even better value. No messing around here, authentic food made and served by authentic people. Also recommend the drunken noodle. Eat there weekly. Great value for money. Cannot be outdone. Try it, you'll keep going back.
Eat here at least once a week - often more. Everything I have tried has been tasty especially the Chilli Basil Beef. At $8.50 a plate for lunch for most things I can't really complain. The wait can be long on busy days. I just take a look in the door and if there are too many people waiting for food I go somewhere else that day and try again next time. I can usually order, get my meal, eat and leave in 30-35 mins.
The decor in the pub is quite modern with big screen TVs everywhere.
The food was not that great, not worth waiting an hour for. The lack of kitchen staff was just overwhelming, some of my friends even cancelled their order because they were too hungry!! Servings are small, not worth the price. You can get better Thai food for better value at other pub in Parramatta. Will never go back.
