I really enjoyed my meal here. The food was great, service was good except for one waiter, we asked him for the bill and didn't get it, asked another waitress for it and got it straight away. The bar upstairs is really nice, great views over Dee Why Beach. I would definitely recommend, my partner is Italian and he loved the food!
I eat in and take away on a regular basis, and I love this place. I can't bring myself to order anything other than my usual because the food is so consistent. The service is good, one female waitress who wears glasses is particularly attentive and helpful. Despite the grumpy saturday night phone guy, the service is impeccable, the value is also excellent particularly the mezza choice special for those with an "eye for value".
This is a regular place for me, so easy to book at. Lovely pastas and pizza, great service. Never had a problem there! I often get takeaway there as well.
I dined in yesterday with a group of 15 for lunch. Whilst there was also a larger group of 35 dining in, we received timely, attentive and friendly service. I enjoyed my Fettuccine Paradiso, fresh produce and pasta and the cream based sauce wasn't too heavy. The garlic bread was also spot on. Others in the group enjoyed a range of pizzas and pasta though one person found the crumbed perch to be bit oily.
With a few children in our group, they were well catered for and enjoyed their lunches as much as the adults. The coffee and desserts went down very well, I would come back to try some of the great sounding pizzas.
Had lunch with friends ... were the only people there, however, service poor. Received our menus quickly, but to place our order and get drinks delivered was so slow! Don't think this place realise you have to be "ready to go" from the moment you open your door! Food was okay, but certainly nothing to rave about....
I see many people are dining here, but no idea why it is so busy. We ordered a take away pizza and pasta, and we found that it was nothing special. Prices are good but my pasta was not "al-dente", very soft like a can of tomato spaghetti. Pizza was just salty, not tasty. I don't want to say too much but it was not satisfying.
Average place with average pizza. We were recommended this place because of the pizza, if you have had real italian pizza's before and this is what you are after, then you are likely to be disappointed. Service was shocking.
I have eaten here in the past, although after my last experience I won't go back. My partner and I ordered a main each and a salad to share. The salad didn't turn up until midway through our mains, at the same time my partner noticed a bug in one of the 3 mussels in his marinara. We alerted the waiter who proceeded to take the mussel, apologise and make no offer of replacing the meal (or at least even offering a substitute mussel). We then started to eat the salad and also found another bug (much smaller this time). Again, the waiter took away my side plate of salad, apologised (and was clearly embarrassed) then made no attempt to offer a replacement salad.
We were offered complimentary dessert by the manager which we declined as neither of us is dessert eaters. When we went to pay the bill they took the salad off the bill. Not much compensation really. Bugs easily can get into a meal. I understand this. It is the way the situation is handled that matters. If we had have been offered replacement meals we would have been satisfied, rather than leaving us to eat the rest of the dishes that had contained bugs!!!
We have been regular diners here for over 3 years now and have increasingly taken our friends and family there who have all shared the same great experience. Fantastic service, lively atmosphere and the best pizzas $12-$18 can buy.
I have to admit that I have not tried too many of the mains (and they do seem a little pricey) but this is simply because I cannot bring myself to order anything other than one of the pizzas from the extensive range because I know that I will be receiving a taste and texture sensation every time. Antipasto is a great way to start and the sticky date pudding tops it all off. We also use the delivery service regularly and it is good value and very efficient. I have not eaten a pizza from one of the generic chains since trying Mezzanotte!
Mezanotte is a great restaurant in Dee Why, we have been back there a few times as we love the food, which is also terrific value, and also the lively atmosphere you get on a Friday night. You can get at least two courses and a couple of drinks for less than $50 (two people). Service is fine, plenty of staff running around all attentive to our needs. Definitely worth a shot.
