Aud 18 for a cocktail and a plate of antipasto from 5pm to 7pm, what else! The antipasto is fresh and delicious, cocktails are sophisticated, definitely will be back!

Outrageous prices, $32 for ordinary bruschetta! Rest of food pretty average, my main wasn't warm enough, cold on the edges. Waiters English very poor, so hard to communicate. Great view doesn't compensate for the price, $600 for 4 people.

My husband and I went to Mezzaluna for Valentines night. The only nice thing I can say is the view and restaurant are both beautiful. Apart from that the whole evening was appalling from start to finish. 45 minutes wait for drinks as we weren't brought a drinks menu until my husband called someone over after about 20 minutes. At this point we also asked for water and were given one glass each. Our water was not topped up at all during the evening.
Again we had to get someones attention to actually order the drinks hence the extra 25 minute wait after we finally got the drinks menu. We had to be pushy and order our food when the drinks were finally served as we were worried we would be waiting all night otherwise. We both finally relaxed after we had ordered and had a laugh about how terrible the service was. The joke was on us as the food was truly disgusting.
My Tiger Prawn starter was overcooked and lukewarm by the time it was actually served. I then had to send my main back as it came out cold. It was actually so bad I had to spit it out in my napkin. I had taken the fat off of the meat and to my horror the same meat minus the fat came back so I'm guessing it was chucked under a grill or zapped in the microwave.
The restaurant was only half full inside and I now understand why. I've had better food and service at my local fish and chip shop. We love eating out and have no issues with the prices as up until now we've never had an experience as awful as this. Don't waste your money on this place.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Mezzaluna last week. We simply could not have asked for more. The food, wine and service was exemplary.
The owners and staff simply could not have done more to help us, both on the day and in the lead up to the wedding. Nothing was too much trouble.
They patiently answered all our many questions, had no problem catering for our many guests with special needs and accommodated our young guests with open arms.
The food and wine exceeded everyone’s expectations and was generously portioned and beautifully served.
Compared to other venues we looked at, this was actually fantastic value. If you are prepared to be flexible (we got married on a week day) then this is a great place for a wedding or special event.
It was the absolutely perfect venue for our reception. Stunning views, perfect layout for dinner and dancing and easy to get to. Truly magical. Could not have been happier.

My partner and I and four friends went to Mezzaluna for dinner on New Years Eve. I had last been here some 8 or 9 years ago under the previous owners and remembered I loved it. We figured that with great food and great views this would be the place to go. All I can say is I was wrong. It's true the view from the terrace is terrific, however, the food, the prices for the food, and the service, is truly appalling.
The food is massively overpriced for what is nothing particularly exciting or innovative. I had seafood pasta in a bag for main and at $36 the portion was small and nothing that I couldn't have whipped up at home myself. I don't mind paying $36 if it's good but this wasn't. Many of the other mains were around the $40 - $45 mark (so towards the higher end of the Sydney dining scale) and were nothing to write home about.
The service was truly appalling. I don't mind a restaurant removing the wine from the table, but they should only do it if they are going to diligently top up the glasses. The waiters at Mezzaluna were not up to the task unfortunately. Ordering the meal took 1 hr and 10 minutes from the time we sat down, and the biggest annoyance was the waiter came, took 2 orders, was distracted and left, came back, took a further 2 orders, had the audacity to leave again, before returning to take the final 2. Really poor service for what are over inflated prices for basic Italian.
In all honesty if you're in the neighbourhood go somewhere else for great Italian. They serve delicious, hearty, wonderful dishes for under $25 at Sopra - Mezzaluna could only hope to achieve this same level of quality. I wouldn't go back.
I also heartily disagree with the response from Mezzaluna posted 9 Jan. 147 customers I have no doubt, but if you have a restaurant with 'x' tables and not enough staff to cover them, then something's going to go amiss. I also know that our waiter did not come back because we were not ready to order - we were ready long before he arrived the first time. And on the pricing, I should add that I have no issue in paying for top quality food, fuel costs, costs of produce and the impacts of weather on the availability of certain items, but when it does not translate to quality on the table in front that is when I have an issue and will absolutely not visit this restaurant again. Mezzaluna's excuses are just that.
Response from Management:
I am sorry you feel that way unfortunately on that night we had 147 customers and the waiter probably was trying to provide you with the quick service but may be he found that in both occasion you were not ready so he moved on to an other table and then come back to you.
We endeavour to keep our prices to a very competitive level but as you would appreciate some thinks you cannot have control over it, like weather, fuel cost and staff cost, excess of rain drives the food cost very high.
We hope we can look after you in a different circumstance or on a quieter night.

Not a good experience. Waiting staff seem to take for ever to serve (unless they are topping-up wine or sparkling water, it seems they only serve sparkling water, not tap water). Over-priced, terrible service and ill mannered staff. A terrible combination. Food was variable.
Response from Management:
I am sorry to hear that, we had 147 customers in house on that night, and the kitchen found a bit hard to deliver a very fast service to the large number of people who had come all together at 8pm. We hope to see you again on a quieter night.

We had lunch at mezzaluna as part of the crave let's do lunches, but we also ordered off the a la carte menu. Over the last ten years we have been three times, the last time was well over 5 years ago and it didn't disappoint. For 3 course plus 3 drinks each was just over $200 for 2- pretty good value for the meal that we had. I'm not sure what the other reviewers experienced but it was nothing like ours. The staff were nice, it is an old school Italian restaurant. The view is always lovely and sitting on the verandah feels like a world away. The only negative was one of the waitresses didn't seem to know her stuff but the guys were straight over to assist. I'd be back for lunch tomorrow if I could!

If you like terrible service, waiters that are so arrogant that won't bother speaking English and getting charged for twice the amount of wine you have drunk this is the place to go. The food is descent but the noisy atmosphere and sleazy staff can make you visit to this restaurant a night to remember - in a bad way. Go at your own risk and what ever you do check your bill twice.

I don't know why people are complaining about this place! I ate at Mezzaluna earlier tonight and thought it was delicious. Rich, classic Italian food. My partner had the carpaccio to start, I tried it and it was good, light, beautiful and fresh. I had the rabbit pappardelle (a secondi piatti) and it was very rich and very very yummy. Mains, I had the eye fillet and the meat was very tender, really lovely, the pardano sauce was rich and creamy. My partner had the cutlets and again, beautiful meat and very sweet tomatoes with it.
Service was attentive but not overbearing. Lovely views. Only small suggestion for improvement is regarding the music, it's a bit stuck in the 90's, need to update or go for classic.
This is not the place to go for a buzzing night out, but to enjoy a quiet and indulgent dinner. Good for relaxed conversation, no need to shout over the loud noise of other diners. I would recommend this when you're feeling like indulging in some rich, classic italian flavours.

Unfortunately, my friend did not do any research before booking here. Therefore, unfortunately, we had an overpriced meal at an overrated restaurant.
What was meant to be a nice evening catching up with friends turned into a dragged out session of waiting for food that was served out separately (don't you know you should always serve the food at the same time? for it is bad etiquette to eat your food before your friend's plate has arrived. And by the time we wait, our food is cold).
When we finally all received our food, I was very disappointed in my main meal, for $29 I expected something exquisite and full of flavour, I had ordered the "Spatchcock". Instead I received something that is not worth to be called "charcoal chicken". Very dry, lacked flavour and very disappointing. The lamb however, was ok, but still not to the standard you would expect from a 'find dining restaurant'. Especially from an Italian restaurant (which is my favourite food!).
I'm sorry to say that this place is all about "looks" (which the view is beautiful) but when it came to "delivery of service", there was nothing special with your food, only that it was heavily overpriced. Who pays $9 for still water? - maybe if the restaurant was located in the desert?.
Do not waste your time unless you have money to burn and not hungry.
