Overview
A modern Lebanese restaurant on the Northern Beaches, with lots of character. Authentic recepies make it a must to try. The atmosphere is warm for families, and great to just dine out.
Great food! 6 of us went there for dinner on a Tuesday night, so it was ladies night, free glass of sparkling wine for ladies! We had the Mega Mixed mezza platter and a few other dishes we wanted to try, Labne, Kebbe Nahye, ladies fingers, potato salad. Then we ordered another bottle of sparkling and some beer and soft drinks.
Food was superb! Service was great! The desserts were to die for! We decided not to eat too much main course as we all wanted sweets. Traditional Lebanese coffee was great. Left very satisfied. $250.00 all up, pretty good considering the quantity of food and drinks. Did feel the $8 per bottle corkage was excessive, so took our bottle home.
I love it. I love it. I love it. I went three nights in a row. It is fantastic. Don't know how the bad comments below were created. The place is packed on weekends, if you want to go, book a few days in advance. The belly dancer is fantastic. The food is absolutley amazing. My favourite is the hommus bil laham. I am so happy something like this is on the beaches and the service is fantastic.
A young local couple own it duane who is front of house is great, the wife who is the chef looks about 20. Beofre I met her I expected a completely different person, I kept wondering how someone so young can cook such great food. This place is a needle in a hay stack. You must try.
Mezza Grill absolutely shines. The food is like nothing else on the northern beaches and, indeed, in surrounding areas! It's fresh, superb flavours and always in abundance. We have our favourite dishes, but always try different ones. The food is superb, and Duane who's front of house is absolutely delightful. Friendly, caring and a great host. This restaurant is well worth trying again and again.
Great food, we had lots of small dishes to share between 4 and the menu was extensive enough to cater to all tastes, vegetarians etc. The food tasted fresh and healthy. Interesting unusual desserts, but we all preferred the mains, it was worth another visit. Saturday night was really noisy, we had to shout across the table - making it even noisier! Another night might be better if you want to talk.
After the review in the Manly Daily we went along and I was disappointed. My usual ploy is to ask the wait staff to order for me, he said he could but then came back and told me he couldn't. We ended up with a platter for two so small and void of variety I believed he made a mistake and it was a platter for one. Too pricey and please pay attention when taking the order. Won't be going back there again and Manly Daily next time send someone who may do a proper critic, not a free meal one.
It's rare that a BYO Lebanese costs $100 for two, but that's what we paid. It was our fault as we ordered what we thought were `tapas style' dishes which are usually served, indeed the menu says mezza means sharing. But instead we got meal sized portions. The beef skewers comprised three thick skewers of beef about 50cm long, ditto the chicken and the ladies fingers were the same length.
Tabouli came in a huge soup bowl. All were tasty but we have had better, crisper felafel. We thought the prices were steep for individual dishes, we now see why, having ordered so much. A better idea might be the $54 mixed plate. We left with doggy bags. The owners and staff are delightful and friendly and the place was packed.
The hoummos and tabouli were amazing! Ladies fingers also fabulous as were the skewers of meat, tender and flavoursome. The only issue was that the falafel was a bit dry, as was the kebbe. However, the staff were wonderful, and is a lovely spot, heartily recommend it. Do wonder why they have a television screen up and on during dinner?
Mezza Grill is one of the nicest Lebanese restaurants I have ever been too. The food was amazing, it was so fresh and full of flavour. The service was impeccable and I would not hesitate in recommending Mezza Grill to any of my friends.
I love Lebanese food, but the best thing about this place is how fresh the food is and close to the North it is, unlike most Lebanese places!! I am addicted to the kafta rolls, they are amazing. I have been there every weekend so far.
I have never had such a regretful dinner, this place was suggested to us by a friend. As for value for money, so totally doesn't exist at this place. We got the meat grill for 2 which was $54 and only had 8 small meat sticks on it. My fiance was still hungry and had to resort to jesters pies after.
The staff are nice, but must have been dreaming when they wrote their menu prices. I have eaten at a lot of restaurants in that area and never felt so ripped off, it was food court standard and nothing special. Very disapointing, will never be going back, and will not be recommending this place.
