I've been to the Metro many times over the past 5 years (used to work over the road). It's what you expect for a good city pub, traditional pub fare, schnitzel, parma, beef and guinness pie, steaks, good salads etc. There are a few options on the wine list and the prices are reasonable. The last time I visited I had the parma, which was enjoyable. Ambience is traditional pub. Good for a few drinks after work too.

Great place for a reasonably priced, good quality lunch. The 2nd floor restaurant is good with excellent service, the hidden gem is the outdoor area up top.

The food here is very good for a pub. I love the chicken, goats cheese and beetroot salad and go here just for that!

This place has been done up quite well. The food has been good here too, for some time now. Great pizzas and friendly staff. They don't put up with drunks either which is nice for a change. Drinks are not the cheapest but considering the location its still worth dropping in for a bit before going out. Worth meeting up with friends and clients here during the day as it is quiet and central to everything. Only downside, they sometimes get a rush of uni student groups on pub crawls.

Good pub, cheap drinks and good food, better than average pub food. Chicken pizza is great. They have TAB, juke box and pokies, there is planty to do and maccas is downstairs if you want it. Good location. It can get noisy on a Friday and Sat but its a pub and it gets growded. Very popular place.

Not the nicest pub looks wise but the rooftop terrace is nice if you can squish your way in. Food is good, cheap and quick. Steak and mash and chicken are both good value for money at 12.50 and 16 bucks each. Good place for lunch with work colleagues, fills up pretty fast so book ahead.

Look, it's alright. Average would probably be on the kind side of a description, but it wasn't bad by any stretch. I had the chicken BLT for lunch today and apart rom the fact there was no tomato in it, the lettuce was limp and it took a while to find the minuscule piece of chicken, it was fine. It's a very basic pub meal so I guess you can't expect any more. The chips were excellent, though!

That guy is obviously trying to plug his own hotel. It is a shame that they try to ruin someone elses reputation because of that. I have been to the Metropolitan hotel for many lunches and dinners, it is a great local place to hang out after work and have a meal or during lunch to have a meal. This place has a very friendly atmosphere and every single client I have taken has been very impressed. Ignore the fact that someone decides to plug a place that they probably own or have affiliation to as it has ruined the overall rating of a CBD Hotle that deserves much higher. I definitely will be eating at the Metropolitan Hotel again.

I don't know what Timothy was on the day he went to the Metropolitan Hotel but it isn't the same place I visit. Ok the lounges may be a little old but they are definitely not dirty. I find the food to be of good quality especially for the price and the size. Every time I walk in, the staff remember me and what I drink which is Reschs from the tap. I think it is the best tap beer in the area and only $4 for a real schooner, no yukky head glasses here. The jukebox rocks and I think you would be hard pressed finding a better pub atmosphere anywhere in the CBD.
