Would have enjoyed the dining experience a little more if it hadn't felt like I was eating my meal in the confines of a small cage. Very crowded and could probably do with a better table layout. Our table felt like it was in the middle of the main kitchen walkway and then our elbows sticking out were frowned upon. Mains were okay. Expected larger servings though for the price.
Service was slow and had to ask for them to bring over our dessert (ice cream/gelato) as we actually suffered and watched it melting on the kitchen waiting bay. If I had to return I would probably prefer the one in Darling Harbour, only just because of the extra leg room.
I visited as part of a large group on a saturday night. The value here is apalling. $33 for a 300g New Yorker steak with a small serve of chips and a very small serve of creamy muchroom sauce, in Paramatta, is not good value in my book. $8 for your cheapest full strength beer on the menu borders on unAustralian. Its not like this place has any SMH hats.
I requested the steak cooked medium, as recommended by the menu. Chewing the steak, I felt like I was at risk of dislocating my jaw. It required a lot of intensive chewing. I don't think my mushroom sauce actually had any mushrooms. The selection of breads we purchased were also pretty average.
I deducted a point from the ambience because I was seated outside and I had to watch people driving their cars up church st all night. What irritated me was that it seemed that the wait staff deliberately delayed delivering our mains so that they could keep pestering our table to offer more drinks. I was hungry and I had to wait what seemed like nearly an hour for my main, and only, course.
Certainly, at least one table near us ordered after us and ate before us. The staff were more than happy to repeatedly serve irresponsible quantities of extra strength alcohol to a couple of people at our table. Of course we only received a single bill including all these drinks which resulted in some subsidisation when it came time to split it.
This is another unimaginative steakhouse that has some tasteful decor and is overpriced to take advantage of customers paying with a corporate card.
We come here quite often for lunch and have never had a problem with the food although the service can be a bit slow at times. One of our favourite Parra eateries!
I recently visited Meat & Wine Co. with a big bunch of friends, and I was sorely disappointed. The entrees are decent but that's not what I'm there for, I'm there for the meat! Out of 15 people, I'd say only 3 people got what they asked for. Rare and medium rare came out well-done instead, and medium came out rare. What a disaster! Although I am not sure if it was the fault of the waiters or the chefs, I'm leaning towards the latter.
The waiters and waitresses were friendly, and offered to replace the steaks, but let's be honest, by the time those are done, our other companions would've been finished.
The surroundings are lovely, but I will definitely not be going back there ever again, especially because the food there isn't cheap, and I'm not getting value for my money.
Nice setup and ambience. Medium Steak and pork Ribs took ages to come out (over an hour) and they're average. Overpriced and not the best quality, retail.
What a mess up of a night! Sure we had the back room to ourselves but they crammed the table so you had to go into the next room just to get into your own table and the people at the end had to sit under shelves ending up with crooked necks.
The food came out all over the place and when my other half finally got his $55 wagyu beef it came out med well instead of med rare and same with my sister's steak. This is a steak place, this should be the easiest thing for them to do. If they can't write it down correctly maybe Meat & Wine Co should invest in handhelds for the waiters.
When the 2nd attempt came out everyone else had finished and their plates were cleared. When we got the bill they had added extra on the meals they got wrong (extra $150) and no apology for the stuff ups.... rude.
The meals here aren't that great in quality for the amount of money you pay, but it is great for when you are absolutely starved and there's no other option but Mcdonalds. This restaurants best meals would have to be their breakfast menu and their desserts.
I think the rating of this venue is a little harsh, you pay good money for good quality anywhere in Sydney. The chicken breast dish was fantastic and the accompanying mash serving is the largest I have seen in a restaurant, so it's good value for money when you compare it to the size of the portion they provide.
Ate here last week on a weekday, sat inside the restaurant, most of the tables were taken. It was a 2nd time coming here, and I have to say the service needs to improve. Forgot to bring out 2 drinks, had to remind them.
Food here wasn't as good as last time, as my steak was warm. I love my steak hot in temperature!! The rest of the family ordered other meals which wasn't too bad. When we wanted to pay the bill we paid with a credit card, it took so long for the waitress to bring back the card, that we walked to the counter to pay (by this time the restaurant wasn't that busy anymore).
