Just eaten at this restaurant and feel so disappointed. From the street it promised so much with a great name and window display. Rude service from a waitperson on arrival. Should have walked out there and then, but decided to try the food. The menu looked fascinating, but food was bland and tasteless. Only shining light was the petite four's (but they too were costly). Will not go back again to such bad service, when there are so many fantastic restaurants nearby.

This restaurant has really improved lately. It is a charming room where the artwork changes regularly and the flower displays are beautiful. The food is very good and nicely presented. This restaurant is trying hard and it shows.

We had dinner last week, the decor was spectacular but the food was average. Loved the dessert, the chocolate pudding was excellent.

Nice local on the north shore that offers BYO for $3 per person. Have been quite a few times but food wasn't as great as it usually is, both the seafood risotto and the pork loin were average. Entrees of salmon gravlax and goats cheese and zucchini tart were beautiful. Great chocolate pudding too. They need to play music though as the atmosphere is quite bland without it.

Great night out. Just the place to sit back with a few bottles of wine, friends and a good feed. Nice one for the locals.

We ate here recently and whilst the surroundings were pretty we found the food to be very underwhelming. The prawn bisque was overly condensed in both texture and flavour so it was quite unpalatable. Generally the servings were small and flavour unremarkable.

Four of us had lunch at Martha's today to celebrate a special birthday. We had previously had a great dinner here, and were eagerly anticipating a similar experience. Alas, this was not to be. After being seated and then ignored for about 15 minutes, we finally waved the waiter over and asked for menus. He seemed somewhat surprised at this request. He brought only three menus, stating that they didn't have any more.

Surprising, since the restaurant was less than half full. A young lady took our order which was not complicated: a Caesar salad, two Reuben sandwiches, a spinach and goat curd tart, and a mixed leaf salad to accompany the tart. After a while, the young man waiter arrived at our table with one Reuben and an order of fish cakes. We told him that we had not ordered the fish. He left the Reuben then returned later with the fish once again, again we informed him that we had not ordered this.

The young lady who had taken our order came over and apologised for the mix-up. At this point we had one of four orders on our table. After a while the goats cheese tart arrived. Still no second Reuben, and no Caesar salad. Nor the mixed leaf salad to accompany the tart. These all arrived slowly, one by one, by the time the last arrived, the first Reuben and the tart were ice cold. The "mixed leaves" salad was a bowl of about five lettuce leaves, nothing mixed about it all the same curly leaf, totally overpriced at $7.

Yes, they did not charge for the second Reuben, and yes they did provide a free birthday dessert (cheesecake, burnt at the edge!) but this did not make up for the inexcusable poor service. There seemed to be a total lack of communication between staff, both in the kitchen and out in the restaurant. We will not be back.

I have been here many times for group lunches and it really is perfect. The food is amazing and the atmosphere relaxed and you can actually hear each other talk, but still with a great ambience in the restaurant. Highly recommended.

The mains we selected were excellent, although I thought the menu rather limited. The terrine entree had little flavour. There were no vegetarian options. Our desserts were ok, but not great. Make sure you ask for table seating, there were some uncomfortable benches also available! Service was prompt and friendly.

Just had a meal at Marthas, would not go back. The food was tasty if you could find it on your plate. Don't mind paying $35 for a main but would like to feel satisfied afterwards. Thank goodness for the entertainment card! This is a restaurant that really needs to increase its portions if it wants repeat business.
