Saturday night is very busy and my experience upstairs was probably diminished by the crush. It's no excuse however for the neglect of the heavily-used bathrooms and clots of dirty glassware massing on every available horizontal surface. Not once did I see a staff member attempting to clear glasses or clean the copious amounts of vomit, water, toilet paper or yet more glassware from the toilets. The toilets were such a pigsty by 11pm that I and my friends were left retching. When security staff outnumber service staff, you get the feeling a place is going downhill.
Combined with chronic understaffing on weeknights (one bartender during cocktail happy-hour - Hello?!?!) I've come to the conclusion that management either is unable to staff Level 1 adequately or just couldn't give stuff about providing a reasonable level of service. Despite the rather nice renovation completed a few years ago, the Marly is fast becoming Newtown's very own 'beer-barn'.

II had a terrific experience @ the Marly. I was celebrating a friend’s birthday. We had a delicious meal in the really funky and comfortable Pregos Restaurant; service was great, really friendly. Then up stairs to Level One for cocktails - great vibe up there, finally down to the Marly bar and dancing to the great cover band. We're all still talking about it.

Only had entrees and cocktails but they were all great. Got even better after the third or fourth! I like the seating, and the little rooms scattered around.

Hey dudes come and see the fantastic trivia here on wednesday nights @ 8 pm, free to play, great prizes and the host, WOW, Reta the host makes everyone feel that they are important and even if you don't win you still feel like a winner, so come and enjoy the night, the best in Sydney.

Good food, prices are okay, service is a little lacking (don't ask to change any of the meals, even slightly).
