Awful food, price is ok if the qulaity was but I ordered a veal marsala what a terrible mistake at twenty dollars + to get several pieces of veal sitting on scallops of potatoes clearly micro heated with a sauce made of cream and some marsala or some sugary staff thrown on the top it tasted awful....appeared as if a teeanger's first effort at cooking.
And except for one person, the others looked in their teen. The whole thing had been placed in a hot oven as you could see the burned edges of the sauce on the plate. This is not worthy of public consumption..yet the place was busy!
Decent pizza, not really ate much else from here but friendly staff/owner and decently priced. You can always usually get a table even on fri and sat night so handy to know about if you decide to dine out at short notice.
This restaurant was the best I've ever been to, the food was great and the staff was extremely friendly. I would go back any time and recommend to any that are looking for a casual meal. Marina Lunga has a great range of italian foods the nutella pizza is to die for!
On Monday night, after having dinner and home, me and my husband have decided to go out and have coffee somewhere nice, where could we get better coffee than in Italian restaurant? That's how we ended up in Marina Lunga. We waited approximately 15 minutes for waitress to come and take the order. (no complaints there, since the place was 3/4 full).
After asking for 2 mochas, we were told they don't take coffee orders till 9.30 pm (it was 9.10 pm) and she can only take food order, because they are too busy. I'm just wondering, they weren't busy to prepare two meals but too busy to prepare 2 coffees. Interesting!
We were quite disappointed and walked out. We are not likely to come to this restaurant again!
I have been to the REAL marina lunga (long beach) in lipari, sicily! The pizzas there were, mind blowing! This mob have a lot to learn to live up to their namesake! Bland, flavourless and just really bad pizza! Can't believe everytime I drive past their full! Baffled!
This would have to be the worst place I have eaten at in a long time. I could not get over how bad the food was. Looking at the prices I now know why. I also know why every other person (10) were eating salads and pizza.
My husband and I shared the garlic prawns which was just terrible. There wasn't a garlic floavour - well a flavour at all. They came in a nice iron bowl but looked like they were in a soup consistency. Then I had the veal parmigiana. The eggplant was soggy, the veal was tough and there was that much cheese on it I couldn't consume it. My husband had the traditional lasagne. When asked what it came with she replied that it is a big serving so it doesn't come with anything. It was also terrible. What happen to great Italian cooking????
When my husbad asked for his second beer it just never turned up. Over all it had to be one of the worst places I have eatten at. Really really unhappy. I will never go back.
I can't figure out how come Marina Lunga's wood fired pizzas have slipped under the radar of Sydney's best Pizza venues. They are authentic Italian and seriously good. My favourite order here is a small napoletana pizza, followed by the grilled seafood platter. I have scored food a 7 but the pizza's are a 9, the remainder is just simple Italian family fare (probably a 6), in a very child friendly setting.
We were in the heart of Balmain and decided to have lunch here and ordered a large wood-fired pizza. The pizza was slightly burnt which was the reason for our lower rating on the food. Nevertheless, other aspects of the place was nice and it would be suitable for casual eating.
Unbelievably good pizza here. Very reasonably priced. Not greasy and with only a few toppings. The staff are always friendly and have your pizza ready in no time. Great to sit and watch the crowds wander past as well.
