Finally, there is an authentic Japanese restaurant at Campsie.
This restaurant is managed by Japanese chefs who were trained in Japan, and offer genuine Japanese food.
Thire signature dish "Ramen noodle soup" is superb. The pork bone soup base is simmered for more than 12 hours.
There are tradithional "Sushi", "Bento Box"and more dishes cooked by the Japanese chefs.
Please enjoy the food in the classy yet comfortable atmosphere.

We visited Manmaruya on a weekday night - not too busy fortunately. Pleasant decor and unobtrusive service. Ordered the terayaki chicken udon. Sadly the broth was somewhat salty. The miso soup was also a little too strong and a little watery. Not the best first impression.

I really do not understand why this place is still so busy! When this restaurant first opened up, it was quite good. However, the quality of food is constantly decreasing, they definitely do not satisfy my ramen cravings. Worst ramen I've tried in my life so far.
Their bento boxes, salad and side dishes are average and worth the value though. Staff are friendly and the ambience is very comfortable and great.

Worst we have ever tasted, it is not Japanese food. Noodle pork soup came with Bacon pieces (it was absolutely disgusting when compared to real Japanese ramen and the broth tasted like it was braised from Bacon pieces). If you want to try some bad fake Japanese food try manmaruya. (I kid you not)!

The eel in the unagi bento was rubbery and disappointing, however, the other items were delicious and fresh. Will return to try the ramen and curry dishes. Be prepared to wait up to 15-30 minutes if you arrive after 6pm on Saturday.

Was recommended this place. Getting the last table for an early dinner (6pm) was lucky.
The food and service were Ok but really nothing special. Good Japanese is either traditional or modern, this was somewhere inbetween. Children's ramen for $3 as an extra on a main meal was huge and great value.
It felt like we were rushed to clear the table. As we left there was a queue out the door. Go there again? Yes, maybe.

Not bad if you're a local. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I wouldn't recommend you go out of your way.
Nice vibe on arrival, can see the sushi chef at the counter working hard, and kitchen out the back. But it ticks me off when the menu pic you use to place your order, doesn't match the dish you're given. Thats what happened here.
I had the pork ramen set. noodles were perfectly cooked. But meat was dry and only a couple of slices. Broth was a good consistency, but bland. Hardly any corn compared to the menu. Gyoza were fried nicely, but bland. Salad was useless, would rather they chuck in some edamame instead.
Service wasn't 'japanese'. Waitresses were easy to call over but appeared disinterested. All adds up to feeling overpriced. Bummer. Will give them another try sometime, but not soon.

This place used to be one of my favourites, but today's visit will be my last. Atrocious drop in standards. Portions are about half what they used to be and the raw tuna sashimi we ordered tasted off.

We're slowly becoming regulars here and have not had a disappointing dining experience once. The sashimi and sushi platter is a little average but great value for what you pay and always fresh. Our absolute favourite thing on the menu is the grilled salmon belly which is melt in your mouth goodness. Service is good though they do get quite busy on the weekends. Definitely good for cheap but tasty Japanese.

Julles: I love the ramen/noodle spoons, very creative and authentic and greatly amplifies the taste and atmosphere! Fun fun :) (Try the ramen - pork soup, yummy)
Aimz : Great value for taste, another Japanese restaurant run by koreans , but run it well. The food tastes very authentic and their salmon is always fresh. One downside, they do not let the customers add ingredients to their sushi rolls which I find ridiculous I mean if I want advocado in my soft shell crab roll I should be able to get it even if it costs me 50c extra.

I'm getting sore-throat after having the ramen soup, for several times. Are they using MSG too much? My next table had a seaweed and it had a bug crawling on it. The waitress replaced that said sorry.
This place is always packed and if you're lucky you can get a seat during peak hours without having to queue. Good place overall, but the bad after-taste really turn me down!
