Celebrated a family birthday here for a Saturday lunch. Enjoyed excellent fresh seafood. We had the seafood platter & seafood ragout, both very tasty & plentiful. Service was attentive, cheerful & paced well. Excellent view. Highly recommended!
I took my wife here for her birthday and had a fantastic time. The crab and mussel hotpot was amazing. The slow roasted beef was also sublime. The waitress was very personable and helpful. Great view over the water. Very highly recommended.
We went to the Pier restaurant for Valentine's Day (which was our first mistake, never go out to dinner on Valentine's Day!), and had the worst night. After waiting 45 minutes to be seated due to the fact that they were working on a two sitting timetable, which should have been a warning in itself, we were eventually seated when I pointed out that our table had been empty for 30 minutes, but not reset.
We then sat there for another half hour without even seeing menus, which I had to go and get. We were then left sitting there with our menus for another 25 minutes, considering that we'd booked for 8:30, by this stage it was almost 10 pm and we hadn't even ordered. I don't usually mind if the service is a bit slow when I'm with someone and we're having a chat, but this was way beyond a reasonable delay.
When I asked the waitress (very politely) if we could order, she rolled her eyes at me and told me she'd get to us when she was ready, then went back to talking to some friends at another table, which she'd been doing all night and which was the reason why we had been ignored all evening. We left at that point. We haven't been back, and maybe it's unfair to judge the place on this experience. But I think one of the other reviewers got it right in suggesting that what lets this place down is the staff, which is a pity because it could be such a nice place.
A friend and I ate there last Thursday for dinner. We both enjoyed fish dishes as mains and had bread with dips to start (the bread was really tasty, I think it had garlic brushed on it). Food was nice, portion size perfect, nice position.
The staff were attentive and helpful without being too in your face. We used the 'buy one get one free' offer from the Entertainment Book, so the visit was worth it. I think the prices are pretty good considering the position.
Nice, tasty food, perfect size serves (not too big, not too small but just right) and great ambience and view.
The menu for kids is spot on. Staff are pleasant and attentive, and look after all your needs in an appropriate manner. A must do for families wanting to enjoy a meal out together.
Love the view. Staff are friendly but not very attentive. A little more urgency would go down a treat. The food is nothing to write home about. The menu is a little boring really. This place relies on the view as nothing else grabs your attention.
All were very pleasant here on a quiet Mon night. The food was not brilliant but still very tasty, the service prompt and friendly. My wifes steak had to be sent back as not cooked enough but this was done quite cheefully by the waitress and it was returned cooked as ordered.
Great views, shame about the service. Service staff need to be trained more on the menu. Not knowing is one thing....but telling us it was something completely different is another. We found the food to lack flavour and imagination, oh well, the harbour makes up for it. Only just.
It would help greatly if floor staff actually knew what the ingredients were on the menu. A little basic training would help here. Very poor service, portion sizes are good, food lacking imagination. I've seen it all done before, and done much better. Shame, the view is demands better.
