What a great sitting of yum cha! very fresh and great service! the scallop and prawn dumpling are amazing as well as the duck!! As good as or if not better than anything chinatown has to offer! with a view like that who cares if it costs an extra couple of bucks!!
This place has a wonderful view but is way overpriced. We had yum-cha paid $10 for a small plate of garlic green beans!! Shocking. The dumplings are very average in comparison to most places too, very little flavour.
We have eaten at nearly every yum cha in Sydney and think Manly Phoenix is the best! Sure the trolleys don't have the variety of China Town but the dumplings are the freshest around, the salt and pepper squid is the lightest and the broccoli is outstanding!! Throw in awesome views and outstanding service, you won't leave unhappy! It is a little more expensive but it's minimal, penny pinchers stay home! More dumpling for me!!
Yum cha here is fantastic. Sure you can go into the city with the crowds and you'll probably pay less, but the food here is fresh and the service is attentive. The location is fantastic. I've queue up in the city for 45 minutes only to be rushed in and out. I've never felt rushed here and we would highly recommend it.
Expensive and the food is average. I assume it is always packed with tourists as I just can't justify paying so much for such average food. Service is really patchy. Never going back.
Tried the yum-cha on Sunday. The food was ok, the service regular, however, was a little disappointed with the variety offered. But wait there's more! The cost for 4 of us was way over the top. Have had better yum-cha elsewhere for nearly half the price.
I love Manly Phoenix, especially Yum Cha (the Mango pancakes are fantastic, as is everything prawn). The view here is great, and if you book early you can get a window seat. Be on time though, they have time limits on some busy days, but this guarantees good service. I guess the price is seen as high, but if you want cheap food then head next door for run of the mill bar food. Yum Cha here is a real treat!
The food is excellent if a little on the pricey side but to be expected with waterfront Manly. Beautiful location at any time of the day. The restaurant does tend to get very noisy but is still very pleasant. I have been here about three or four times and have found the service however while quite fast to be less than friendly on each occasion which is a shame but the food is good enough to keep me coming back.
Yum Cha on Sunday morning, great, you have exactly 60 minutes, then you must vacate. Food was good but overpriced. View is excellent. So go here if you want to eat quickly, pay too much and get a quick look at the view. Otherwise, go to Chatswood !
