For a "family Chinese restaurant" type of feel, the food is excellent. The dishes are all very good, haven't been disappointed yet on any of them over mamy visits.
Take for example the simple vegetable soup, which is only a few dollars and served as an entree, it is delicious. You won't believe that a simple soup can taste so good before you try it. The other dishes are good as well. The Mongolian Lamb or Beef arrives sizzling on a hot plate and has tender, good quality meat.
Simply a restaurant which achieves very well what it sets out to do foodwise - affordable, good quality "family" Chinese food but not at the "high end" of style or price. The decor is a little "Chinese restaurant in the suburbs above an RSL" type of feel. Well, a bit better than that actually, as it has a dragon and phoenix on the wall. Acceptable for what it is, but you don't go there for the decor.
Service has been good. Menus come when you want, but otherwise the waiters don't bother you, which is what I like. Occasionally can be slow getting drinks ordered, but nothing serious. Otherwise, they seem to have eyes in the back-of-their heads and seem to come when you are thinking of asking for them. Of course, when I have been there, it has always been mostly empty (we go late at night on weekends).
There is a thriving takeaway business, which may explain why the restaurant has always been so quiet. Otherwise, it is hard to explain, the food really is great Chinese food at a good price. This place deserves better simply by word of mouth.
If you're after a "great Chinese meal" without airs and graces, this is the place. Highly recommended.
I have recently moved to the area and I was recommended by a family member to go here. The food is sensational and the service is outstanding. Pete the owner will remember your name and always greet you with a smile.
There was plently of left over food to take home and all prices are value for money. The house wine is only $3 a glass. You cannot go wrong here. Well done and keep up the great work!
The staff are very rude. When we went there they basically threw the plates onto the table. I had bought in a six pack of beer and the waiter snatched it from my hands and said "wine only" and walked off. I'm never eating here again.
I have been going here for 5yrs and have never had a bad experience. Food is exceptional (and great value for money), service is fantastic. Just thinking about their food makes me hungry - and their banquets are great value if you have 4 or more. Highly recommended.
What more can I say, go there! For $25 per head we got entrees, mains, dessert, coffee, and soft drinks and took away 10 containers full of food in doggy bags we could not eat. The food was great prawn dishes, beef, pork, chicken and vegetable dishes, and ice cream for dessert. Staff are super friendly and they go the extra mile. The restaurant could be done up a bit more but I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and look forward to going there again.
The Food exceptional. The waiters after going there a few times remember you. My Parents go in for dinner and they know them by name. The owner comes around and chats to you and suggest some great dishes.. this is everything a local restaurant should be. Please go if you have never tried it. The cripsy king prawns in the shell and spicy dory are to die for
