Great food! The rotis are fantastic and so is the lamb curry! Fast service. Good value for the money.

This is just average food la. I guess its all hype and people are like sheep lining up.
Most of the people in the queue are under 25 years old and taste buds have not developed and matured. They have no idea. Its just very very ordinary food, most of it coming out cold. These young people might as well line up at mcdonalds.
Good luck to the management though, well done.

Best Malaysian food in Sydney, hands down! My partner is from Malaysia, and having visited there many times myself, I have to say this easily compares to street food in Malaysia (well, maybe not as good as the best street food in Malaysia, but it's definitely up there with the middle ground stuff).

Roti canai is great, curry meat falls apart in your mouth from being slow cooked, sambal is very very good! Obviously, there is a wait, but it's well worth it. And of course, $5 for a roti canai is a bit dear when compared to 1RM or less, but for Sydney prices it's fairly cheap.

Only issue I have is the dubious looking nasi lemak, I'm yet to try it though, so I could be wrong. It does, however, look as 'authentic' as an AirAsia version.

The queue to eat at this place is generally insane and most of the people are happy to stare at the roti-making when they get close enough to the shop entrance. Patience is key when wanting to dine at Mamak and it all gets very exciting when the line eventually gets shorter.

Mamak is a small place and the seating is quite cramped but the good food more than makes up for it. The prawns for entree were really good and the little skewers are excellent too. Perfect place to order a few dishes and share with friends. Good value for money too! Make sure you try the Roti!

Best Roti Canai! won't mind to queue. Place a little bit compact though, however, service was quick and very well done.

I have been wanting to go for ages after hearing how great it was and I have to say this place is excellent. The wait in queue was worth it. The service is fairly efficient but not overly personable. But the food is good and cheap. Will be returning for another visit. It has a great buzz to it and I didn't feel compelled to rush our food despite the queues outside as they turn over very quickly.

Like jasminemesis, one bite of the roti takes away all negative emotions about the long queues and so-so service. All roti variations are delicious and the mi goreng isn't bad either. Chicken curry is also worth trying. You forget about all the noise around you once you dig in.

Get in the queue for the roti as it's the best in Sydney but everything else is a bit... meh.

Be prepared to stand and wait, we were in the queue for about 30 minutes and it was a Monday night. Whilst you’re there you can watch the chefs in the windows roll out and stretching roti dough putting on a show for the customers. Once inside we had already decided what to order, the food was on the table in seconds. The fish curry was delicious but the Ayam Goreng (fried chicken) was my favourite. I also recommend the banana roti for dessert. It’s something different and casual without being fast food. I would dine here again.
