A very "Melbourne" bar in the heart of Newtown. Agree with most of the reviews below, great for a relaxing night though service is sometimes slow.

A rare gem in Sydney, a bar with character and charm. We have been here many times and the movie nights are a great idea too, although the included mezze plate isn't great at all and so we haven't delved further into the menu. Always a good place for drinks though.

This place is great, shabby couches, have to get in quick as the place fills up quickly. Service is a bit slow at the bar but very relaxing environment.

Ahh a piece of Melbourne in newtown, love the vibe and enjoyed it very much, will definitely go back, can't wait till the new liquor laws kick in and we get a few more of these places around town.

I held my 40th birthday here - hired the room for an afternoon, and 50 or so of my friends and I enjoyed MFF's fine food, drinks and ambience. Sonia is a pleasure to work with and the staff are fantastic. MFF is now my favourite bar in Newtown! Thanks MFF for a great party and wonderful venue.

I adore this place. The atmosphere is great. Love the wine list, friendly staff. I go there every week to chill out with friends.

Went for the Tues movie night; Movie + drink + food for $20 which is great. The Portuguese beer is nice and the atmosphere in the 'movie cinema' is great! Lots of couches and it was very cosy.
Only bad thing I have to say that the mezze plate is very ordinary. I could have broken my teeth on the bread (or killed someone with it), it was so hard! The hommus had no flavour, but the mushrooms and chorizo were ok!
I would recommend going for the movie night, but maybe having something to eat beforehand so you are not relying on the food supplied.

It's a gorgeous place for a drink after work. The wine list is good and the prices are very reasonable. You can also serve yourself out a plate of free wasabi peas, which is a nice touch. Bar staff were friendly and efficient and the place just has a really nice feel. It's definitely worth checking out.
