I have been dining here for 3 times, all the time I had great food with best service. This kind of a restaurant is a must in Kirribilli. The pizza there is delicious, I did not eat anything else. The waitresses and the owners are very polite and friendly. I had a great time in this restaurant and will visit it regularly.

This is our local pizza place and I will not change it for another one in Sydney. We have tasted almost every pizza they have on the menu and our favourite is Raffis Lot. The pizza base is perfect and the filling is very tasty and generous.

The restaurant is nothing pretentious, but the food is amazing, we are so happy with our pizzeria that we took our friends from Milano here and they loved it too.

Very disappointed. Ordered the chicken burger and a chicken risotto and was told they were out of chicken! The waitress came back and said we could have the risotto but not the burger so stuck with the risotto. Since when is italian risotto made with long grain rice? It was as if they went to the Thai place next door, got some steamed rice and threw in what was meant to be chicken, but the jury is still out on that!

Also ordered a pizza which was cold. Had to end up through the McDonalds drive through just so my son had some dinner. Definitely not going back to that hole.

Had a take away pizza, it was surprisingly good! I had been going to the pizza shop up the road from this one for years and never bother to try this place. Now I have an additional shop to go to for pizza!

I ordered the take away Ravioli Bolognese. Gee I was disappointed. The sauce was acidic and very bland, the Ravioli lacked flavour. For $15.00 I expected much better. Surprised this place is still in business considering its situated in Kirribilli. I won't be going back any time soon thats for sure.

Pretty awful place. Chicken calzone was cold, obviously pre made and reheated. Prawn pizza included frozen prawns, which doesn't make for a great pizza. The pizza was tasteless! Service was very average.

All in all, don't bother. I'll be sticking to the square pizzas down the road in future, great service, quality ingredients all made after you've ordered!

Worst restaurant in Sydney: I had terrible experience at the Mad Italian, as I went to dinner with the family. I ordered a simple pasta with just a napolitana sauce. The sauce was not even cooked and there were massive chunks of onion and stale cheese on top.

One of my family members ordered a Souvlaki (not even italian) which wasn't grilled it was deep fried! after not eating the pasta, I asked the waitress for a pizza romana (thinking they wouldn't stuff that up), half hour later and continuous reminders they came out with a pizza marinara, which had little frozen prawns and drenched in cheese, top it off the base wasn't cooked.

When we went to pay, the waitress denied her mistake and the senior staff ended up charging us for the uneaten pasta and screamed at us for complaining. Great service, not, I would never recommend this restaurant (if you could even call it that) and I hope they run out of business because kirribilli deserves a great italian restaurant to show truly what italian cooking and cuisine is.

We had breakfast here on 26/06/2010. My mother and I asked if instead of one of the eggs, we could have beans. The waitress informed us this was fine but we would be charged despite not having an egg. Which we agreed to. My boyfriend had beans instead of mushrooms. When we got our breakfast it was far from the "world famous breakfast" advertised and in fact wasn't very nice at all.

On top of that the beans were stone cold. We complained to the senior staff and said we were not going to pay for the beans ($2 each) as they were cold and anyway we had forfeited other things. He was incredibly rude to us and argued vehemently about letting us off the $6 total. Apparently we had caused him to mess up the whole kitchen by asking for some beans! And we shouldn't have changed what was on the menu.

I will never go back to this place, the food was below average and the service was appalling. His waitress should have told us if changing things is a problem. But she didn't and it's not in most places. Avoid The Mad Italian!
