Very unassuming from the outside. Stopped for breakfast last Sunday because the coffee smelt good and wow! Terrific coffee, and the food looked great, so we had something to eat also, again wow! For a little unassuming place, what a surprise. Wonderful breakfast and the best coffee I've had in a while. Thank you.

Dropped in here at around 3 pm one afternoon last week and enjoyed a great big plate of pesto fettucine and a veg haloumi pizza. Both were tasty and very good value. With a bottle of water, lunch was under $25 for two people, how good is that?

You can't help but be impressed with the Mad Greek. Set price for entrees $5 and mains $10 makes this an instant hit.And the quality of food far exceeds expectations. The setting is pretty tacky but this is a place you go to eat, not to absorb the atmosphere. I hate Newtown but I look forward to eating at the Mad Greek. This is a love it or leave it eatery and I love it.

Read on eatability that it was a place to visit. Went there with 3 boys, all good eaters and was wondering what we were in for when we saw the sign for the restaurant and the flashing Christmas lights! it looked like a takeaway kebab shop! wow was I surprised!

The food was soo good and as mentioned below $5 for entrees and $10 for mains. We shared everything and walked out for under $20 including corkage and could barely walk! highly recommend! The chef was cooking by herself and was sooo efficient and very talented! Keep them in business!

My new favourite place, I would go every day if I could! As the other reviews have said, everything is $10 (or $5 for entrees). The food is delicious, full of fresh incredients and generous. It doesn't get much better for value. The menu so extensive that I still haven't tried everything I want to. My favourite would be the eggs benny with smoked salmon on greek bread which is still $10. Probably the only place that doesn't charge extra for salmon!

Wow. What a find. Amazing food at a very reasonable price. I have had a Castric Band and not eaten calamari since. I thought surely the Greeks can cook tender calamari and man was I right. If you closed your eyes you may have mistaken it for haloumi, except for the flavour of course. A cafe atmosphere, a great place to take the kids or meet up with family and friends.

What a great find. Once you get past the humour of thesenior staff (don't believe a word he says!) check menu. All entrees are $5 and all main courses are $10, no joke. The food is honest and reasonable size portions and the quality pretty damn good. I have been twice and had breakfast there recently. Had Napoli Eggs (from memory) which were poached eggs with napolitanan sauce, spinach (raw), parmesan and toast. I also had a side of bacon and could hardly get through it. Great value, plenty of choices (and not just greek) and a side of humour along the way.

This place rocks! new favourite place, have taken family and friends and they enjoyed it just as much, scrumptious, tasty food with classic greek music in the background!

Highly recommended. This is my Favourite place. Extremely fresh tasting meals at fantastic prices. The pasta's and the Calzones are definitely ones to try. Though in saying all that, every meal I eat there is my latest favourite meal. The ambience is fantastic! who else has a solarpowered wheelie bin playing their music? You've got to try this place, highly recommended.

An excellent value for money place to eat. Very decent coffee and a good range of sweets, snacks and basic but tasty meals. A very welcome addition to Newtown.
